That makes it sound like they could've gone anywhere, and there's nothing particularly special about this place.

One of them has a neat square hole chopped in it, so at the very least they are not "just" boulders.

I have to give a bit of an eyeroll if she's a lesbian and is hitting on Gavia, as opposed to avoiding the vaguely-demonic looking guy. It is interesting to learn that people on the surface don't know what the Preases are.

Gavia and Ardent spoke of getting permission from them which, to me, implied that they were from where ever Gavia and Ardent came from which I assume is space, or at least in orbit. That being the case it makes perfect sense to me that nobody on the surface save for the occasional...whatever Alice and Sedna are exactly would have ever heard of them.
