Over the course of my work, the characters usually get around in a horse drawn caravan (they live in a pre industrial setting) I know that I don't need to become an expert on this to occasionally reference this in a way that is believable. But I don't have the slightest idea how they would harness the horses or even exactly what the horses would be doing when not hooked up to the caravan. I haven't had much luck looking online.

If anyone could point me in the direction of some good resources on this it would be very appreciated.

The folks at this forum: Chronicles of the Horse are very friendly, very helpful, and (like every forum out there) anything from "very knowledgable" to "full of shit". You'll have to make an account to post, but I would do so, then make a thread with a meaningful title, and in the Opening Post explain that you're writing a story, that you know nothing about driving horses, and that you want to get it right (or if you choose to do something incorrectly, that you'll at least know that it is incorrect and why).
