No seriously, where does the idea that light novel ideas are inherently dumber come from?
If you ask me that just sounds like an anime premise. Or a manga concept. Could certainly easily be a visual novel even.

Light novels do have a much stronger tendency towards power fantasies than the rest
And it really doesn't sound anything like I'd expect from an anime original, which tend to be kind of odd and have female protagonists more often than not

I've read a bit of the Battle Devil Siscon thing, manga and... well yeah it's about what you expect, but perhaps not as bad as you expect. Admittedly the ecchi is so intense it's about half a step from just becoming a hentai, but it can manage a half-decent plot and drama and the battles are cool.
I'll probably check it out.
LN did develop quite a poor reputation in recent years, didn't they?

I've seen the battle devil siscon in manga form at least it was....kinda ok early on, but then seemed to devolve into cliches. Animation might help it, since the battles would look better.
