The term "Constructed Language" is the term that refers to languages that were invented instead of evolving naturally from another language, regardless of context or intentions of being made.

This article, however, is about Constructed Languages used within the context of being made for fictitious works. Expanding it to include the proper definition, however, would turn the trope into a Useful Note.

I think what we should do is to move the trope to a new name while we make a new Useful Note thread detailing con langs.

To start off the suggestions of new names, perhaps something like "Fictional Language".

The wiki deals with fiction and the writing thereof. In that context, "Conlang" means exactly what we use it for. The fact that is has a broader definition in linguistics is insufficient reason to change a name that has 258 wicks and had 369 inbounds without substantial evidence of misuse, which you do not provide.

Declining to open, and please make sure that when you propose a rename, that you provide evidence that the name is broken in your Opening Post, especially for pages with high wick and/or inbound numbers..

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
