Well, that was fun, I feel though that a more important final season would have been one where we explore Kara going public, so I'm a bit disappointed we won't get that

And now the showrunners will forever be hounded by salty Supercorp shippers like sane and rational people.

[up]I mean that happens with every show. If the big ship, slash, het, or femslash doesn't get together fans will get salty. Just look at John/Sherlock shipper from Sherlock, Clarke/Bellamy shippers from the 100, or Emma/Regina shippers from Once Upon a Time. As there is no pleasing those fans, it was inevitable for them to salty and they will never let it go.

Either way this was a good finale. I don't have much to say besides that I feel like Arrow had a better finale. I did like seeing Cat and others again.

Bet is Lex gone for good. Or will he return in Superman and Lois.

Alright, that was certainly something. I'll say that it didn't feel like a finalefinale the same way Arrow did. I mean, it ended pretty much with And the Adventure Continues, there could easily be another Season after this one.

But still, I enjoyed it, there were a lot of emotional moments, a lot of call backs to the good old times. It has been a fun 6 years, I am gonna miss these characters very much.

Truly hope they'll pop up again in the verse in the future, especially in Superman & Lois.

I definitely want Lex to show up on S&L, both because Cryer is excellent in the role, and because we've never actually seen him and Superman interact (well, not with this Superman, anyway).

They pretty much wrote Lex out that way so they could bring him back later if they feel like it. They could easily say Lex just created fake Phantoms to evacuate him and Nyxly.

Or for him to escapee of his own accord later.

I heard that apparently there was a kiss cut or something between Kara and Lana. Was that real or fake? Because if it was real it seems like a weird thing to film and then cut out. So my thought process was that it had to be fake but I just couldn't personally find much information on it.

My understanding is that it's fake and that the photos of the "cut scene" was a manip.

This this on Fan-Preferred Cut Content is a misuse.

  • Supergirl: Fans, especially shippers, became furious when it was found out via a Content Leak that there was a cut scene in the series finale in which Kara and Lena would have kissed and become an Offical Couple, with many fans enraged at the CW for taking away what could have been LGBT representation and demanding a cut with the scene intact.

Should it be cut?

After all the grief the cast went through over it I'm glad it didn't happen.

I mean the cast didn't really help their case sometimes. Like openly mocking them in song form. I feel like in that case shippers were right to be angry. They took a little far, but I get being angry there.

The other times, yeah that is bad on the shippers. Part of the reason I fell out of it was due to it becoming so toxic.

I'm just interested, now that the series is over (yeah okay, I'm a bit late tongue) how you would rank the Seasons.

For me it would be:

1. Season 4. That one didn't just avert the "CW Season 4 curse", it outright inverted it. The political allegories were spot-on, Dreamer was introduced, Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor was introduced, Manchester Black was cool, even the Supergirl Clone thing was done right. Definitely my favorite Season of them all.

2. Season 3. Now I know that I'm probably the odd one out here, as many hated that Season but I......didn't? I mean, Reign was a great character, Brainy was introduced and it also showed Kara in a very vulnerable position for the first time. I liked it.

3. Season 5. It was a shame that it got cut short, and Leviathan was also kind of a letdown, but the confrontation between Kara and Lena nearly made my forget all this and Cryer's Luthor was as good as ever. On top of that, liked William more than most, probably. Andrea....yeah, there were some issues with her, but they still portrayed here in a sympathetic light (until next Season of course). I also thought the technological theme was an interesting change.

4. Season 6. It wasn't bad by any means, I think it worked quite fine as a conclusion, but there were some issues with it. Most notably, Andrea turned completely unlikeable here. And the Totems thing was just not that interesting. Plus, they kinda turned up the cheesyness to 11.

5. Season 1. Yeah.....I mean, the best I can say about this Season was that they were trying to find their course. But it was pretty darn narm-y. The Channel hop to CW definitely rescued it, otherwise I probably wouldn't have continued watching. Buuuut not right away, because......

6. Season 2. Ugh......the less said about this Season, the better. The only good thing that came with it was Lena.

All the Super Corp stuff gives me flashbacks to all the Smallville fans who genuinely were horrified and stunned Lex Luthor and Clark weren't going to get together.

[up]Some are still shocked.

Yeah something I noticed DC and Marvel stuff are a shipping magnet. Rather that is a good or bad thing is up to the person. Geek fandom shippers in general scare more than most fandom shippers (Soup Opera and so on) as they are generally already super passionate to a very intense degree. Not that is necessarily automatically a bad thing. Just that can easily become such more quickly.

My season ranking in order of best to worse is 4, 5, 3, 6, 2, and 1.

Apparently, a Season 7 without Melissa was in the works, but the CW intervened

Considering Batwoman wasn't quite the same when it lost its star, I'm not surprised CW didn't try.

I believe it would depend on who becomes the lead if Supergirl is not the lead. A show about Alex Danvers or J'hon J'ones (forgot how to spell it.) would hold water due to how much of a presence they've had in the show and in Kara's life. It would take a bit of work but it is plausible. Contrasting though, a show with Brainiac or Nia Nal as the lead would be a harder sell imo due to how they came later and had some issues of later Supergirl. A Lena Luthor show is to me, Succession mixed with many Lex Luthor tropes. And it would probably stay like that because even though magic exists in the Arrowverse, having Lena learning Drudic magic is still farfetched to me. Did I forget any other characters?

While those could have worked as their own shows, they'd have a hard time justifying the Supergirl name.
