Unbelievable...looks like they will reach the 400 K goal...every time I look they jumped ahead a little bit.
They're at 410K and have only 27 hours left. I wonder if they'll make it?
Everything is Possible. But some things are more Probable than others. JEBAGEDDON 2016Well, they reached the 400K goal faster than I thought...still, 500K is a high goal.
I remembered that whole "shut up and take my money" meme—and realized that that is pretty much what is continuing to happen with this project.
Yeah, that avatar's a 'Shop of my real face.Well, they are already at 413...looks like a lot of people decide to donate before it is over. But in any case, it is great that they managed to make more than five times of their basic goal. They better dish out some high level animation now. No excuse.
414...at this rate they might reach 500 after all.
415 now....currently the donations rise by 1K every hour....that won't be enough to reach 500k though, but there might be more and faster donations when people realise that they might be able to reach that goal after all....
Edit: Nearly 422K now...17 hours left, 78K to go...they need around 4,5 K every hour to make it....
Edit: Nah, they wont make it...10 hours left, 67 K to go, meaning they now need 6,7 K every hour. Unless there are some last minute "we pick the highest donation" investors turning up, it won't be enough.
Edit: 7 hours left, 60 K to go....there seem to be more (or higher) donations now that time is running out....still, they now need nearly 10 K every hour. Unlikely.....

Well, it is over...they came closer to the last goal than I would have thought. End result is $470.551, which is quite a feat.
They probably should have announced the $500,000 goal earlier. Funds slowed down once the stretch goals started slowing.
Still, these shorts are now a reality! Now to await their arrival.
I SHOULD know they reached their deadline. I got 3 email notices from them in the past few hours!
Hullabaloo now has a production blog! The link is here.
The blog can only be seen by those who've backed the film, though. Or you could type in: "thankyousteampunk" as the password.
I admit, I am still ridiculous excited about the project. I have the feeling that this one could become big.
Thanks, I won't tell anyone!
;P
It's been a year since the campaign ended, but here's their latest update on the shorts' progress.
So if you're wondered what's happened to the project, rest assured that it's still in progress.
Well, the usual production time for a movie is three years...while those are episodes, they have a much smaller staff. But I hope that we'll get to see something, soon.
Any recent news ?
Edit: Wait, one should better look up himself before he asks. Here's where they were as of 10/24/15:
"As of 10/24/15, Episode 1 is 61% complete with rough animation, 38% complete with Clean-up animation and Ink & Paint. 11% done with backgrounds and 3% of the shots have been finalized.
Episode 2 is 66% complete with rough animation, 61% complete with Clean-Up animation. 53% complete with Ink & Paint. 10% of the backgrounds are done and 12% of the shots are finalized.
The next big step is to record the vocal tracks. We have actors cast and are waiting on making final adjustments to the script before scheduling a recording session.
Our goal is to have the rough animation done by the end of the year with Clean-up, compositing and post production to follow soon after."

Yeesh, they're not done?
I guess with this flux of CG movies, it's kinda hard to forget that 2D animation takes a while...
Anyway, who'd you guys think they'll go for? Well-known celebrities or well-known voice actors or a little of column A and column B?
2D animation can take just as long to do as CGI, but they're working with a small staff.
Honestly I figure they'll go for the usual voice actor lineup, such as Tara Strong, Kari Wahlgren, etc, since they're good at their job and not as expensive as celebrity actors.
Wow, I'm surprised I hadn't heard about this project until now. Hullabaloo looks like it could be a really great franchise for whatever it's gonna end up being. Kinda hoping for movie cuz that's really the only medium where hand drawn animation has become a dying art. But a tv series would be awesome too.
"That's a to-go order. See! It's already gone!!"It's a shame they are getting themselves mixed into the whole 4K marketing bull****.
I checked the blog. They are trying to upscale their drawings to 4K because "it's the future!" and only succeeding thanks to a recently invented upscaling algorithm that makes vectors look more like pencil lines.
It may be personal, but I really hate the 4K hype. No one needs more than 1080p UNLESS you sit 5 inches from your screen; from 2 meters you will never see a difference.

Who knows...now that it is possible to upgrade the donations a lot of people might raise their original one in order to get a better perk.
Looks like all the money made sure that they were able to hire three more people for the project.
