Took awhile, but we finally got Penguin Time. Now to just wait a year for them to make the Switch so that we can finally use these characters.
Geez, this game's art style does not flatter Empoleon. I think my biggest hope for a potential sequel would be cel-shading. I think it would have less Uncanny Valley and gel better with the generic anime human characters.

I actually think Empoleon came out pretty well. I like the sort-of crystalline blades and... belly thing that it has.
I'm placing my bet on it being Standard, as that's the only character type we haven't gotten from the DLC characters.

Looks fine to me. It's not really supposed to be cute, or whatever. Everything else has a slightly more realistic edge to it.
He looks less like an action figure from he 90's, thats for sure.
This could be nothing, but the Pokemon channel is uploading the CEO Pokken matches after avoiding posting much of anything Pokken related for months. Could mean we're going to get a DLC announcement... could just be their getting around to it.

You know, despite wanting other Pokémon ahead of it, I have to admit that Empoleon looks pretty awesome.

The King of Iron Flippers is looking very fresh I'll admit. But to be honest I haven't seen a bad or poorly presented character in this game yet.
Really hope it gets its second chance on the Switch.

Not Gen 7, but there's one Pokemon I'd love to see in Pokken Tournament 2 above all others: Feraligatr. It's one of my three all-time favorite Pokemon, and the other two (Scizor and Sceptile) are already in.
As for Gen 7, all three fully-evolved starters would make great additions. Decidueye is a shoe-in due to how popular Rowlet is, Incineroar was indeed born to be in this, and Primarina would look amazing rendered in the more realistic Pokken art style.

For a Gen VII rep in Pokken, I wouldn't mind seeing Primarina, Incineroar, Kommo-o, or one of the Lycanrocs. Maybe even Stufful or Salazzle.
As far as pre-Gen VII mons go, I'm still waiting for Zoroark, Swampert, Flygon, and/or Aerodactyl.
