As an atheist, I believe that the Bible is homophobic, and therefore immoral. However, I welcome different perspectives: Christians who believe that the Bible is homophobic but that homosexuality is indeed wrong, Christians who don't believe that the Bible is homophobic, etc.
I am going to quote numerous passages from the Bible that I argue are homophobic. Later in this discussion, I will say why I believe that homophobia is wrong. So, here are the verses:
1) Leviticus 18:22: Men having sex with men is an abomination. 2) Romans 1:26-28: Paul says that homosexuals, both male and female, are evil. 3) 1 Corinthians 6:9-10: Men who sleep with men won't go to heaven.
So what do you think? Is the Bible homophobic? If so, is that a bad thing on the Bible's part? I welcome discussion on this topic.
