[SPOILERS]: The Smash 4 Leak thread.

as ive suggested before (and i think spooky mask suggested it even earlier), its not necessarily the esrb guy leaking it, but the person who recorded the footage to give to the esrb who is leaking it.

Alright, I've calmed down a bit... But I'm still upset.

I didn't just want Mewtwo back because "omg hes so badazz lawl". He was my main.

Lucas and Ice Climbers are two of my most-used characters, so I'll be upset to see them gone...

(yeah, there might be more characters not unlocked in that screen, but I highly doubt those two would be some of the hardest characters to unlock. And I know about the DLC claim, but I'm taking anything without any pictures to back it up with a huge grain of salt)

Good thing Lucario is almost identical to Mewtwo except stronger and with the a unique mechanic that makes him alot more interesting than Mewtwo, then.

What are you talking about?

Lucario shares one similar move- Shadow Ball/Aura Sphere- With Mewtwo, and even that's got some noticeable differences.

As if Mewtwo can't be tweaked so it's not so "blah" if it's playable in the fourth game.

And having played both, Lucario hardly plays like Mewtwo; they may share some similarities (mostly similar Neutral Specials), but they're distinct enough to not really be clones of one another.

Guys? Remember the DLC part? Apparently, the leaker made that up. In his words "DLC was fake just to fuck with you retards" He also challenged /v/ to solve a code he posted. Someone managed to crack it and got this.

@strawberry: I've seen that come up a lot, and I gotta say, as nice as Sakurai has been and as much as he's shown to care about the fanbase, I still think free DLC is a bit toogenerous a gesture to bank on it happening. Call me a cynic.

I've been skeptical of the leak mainly because there hadn't been anything to truly convince me that it was legit. With the latest video clips and onslaught of pics, I'll admit I'm still a bit hesitant, but overall leaning towards legit. But at the end of the day it doesn't really matter; we'll be seeing the game in a couple weeks anyway.

In fact to piggyback off what I said earlier about this not being the final roster, here's a really wild thought: What if this leak shown was showing the starting roster with more characters having to be unlocked? May make a little sense seeing how odd the placement of characters are.

One of the posts in that thread said that Sakurai has stated that the leaks aren't legit (I assume on Twitter or Miiverse or something). Can anyone confirm this claim?

I think the biggest thing for me here is that I doubt Nintendo would have let this leak slide for this long if this was legit. After all, they swiftly dealt with the Pokemon X/Y leaks when they happened, and this is a much bigger game for them.

@Customer: It's something I've mentioned before and have only seen briefly in other places, the idea of there being fake info alongside the truths. It's an tendency of the fanbase to microanalyze every tiny component but still treat the entire set as one unit.

@Pulse: Honestly I think Dr. Mario is more odd. Lucina and even Dark Pit could be seen as throwing bones to their large fanbases. Did anyone really want Dr. Mario back?

Roster list is completely believable. Not great, but believable. The CSS is still completely stupid, so hopefully that gets changed. Yoshi goes after Rosie and Jr. With all the chaos going on, remember it's best not to believe anything that isn't in good pictures or videos. We already got burned on Gematsu, and that seemed credible for a long time.

Edit: Pokemon is bigger than Smash. And while they can sue the person/people who leaked this, there's not much they can do to stop it once it's in the wild.

@29: They share one special move. That hardly makes them identical. Lucario was impossible for me to adjust to from Mewtwo because nothing about their playstyles were even remotely similar.

/v/ says a lot of things. I have seen claims that they've seen the Dog render somewhere on the eshop before it was taken down, but I've never seen any proof of it.

eh, it took about 12 hours for the x and y leaks to get taken down. I remember 1 guy who posted photos of his play through and then a few hours later, a picture of just a note saying "got Nintendo'd" and the 4chan post I saw freaking out because "THEY FOUND US. THEIR GONNA CATCH US ALL"

Nothing to really add there, just got reminded of something funny.

Since this seems like the right thread to ask this, assuming that the leaker is telling the truth here and Ridley, Mach Rider, Impa, Dixie and Mewtwo joins the battle, would you be satisfied with this roster?

Not gonna lie, I'd play the shit out of Mach Rider.

About the X/Y thing, I think Nintendo was responding more to people actually selling the game earlier than intended rather than any sort of leaking going on with that incident.

@Spooky Mask: I dunno, it's the kind of thing I've seen a lot. Leaker demands everyone line up to suck his dick for info, which everyone naturally does. People who try to debunk the leak get laughed at by everyone and the leaker for not sucking the leaker's dick for info. Wash, rinse, repeat.
