[SPOILERS]: The Smash 4 Leak thread.

For those that don't know, there's recently have been alleged footage about unrevealed characters in the new Super Smash Bros game. Here we debate whether or not there is truth to these footage, as well as discuss general information leaks. POSSIBLE SPOILERS ALL AROUND, SO IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED ABOUT WHAT COULD BE THE FINAL ROSTER, DO NOT VISIT THIS THREAD.

Well, might as well drop this off here then.◊ I doubt this thread will last long, though.

And for reference, this is the bulk of the initial leak that has managed to drown most discussions of this game so far.◊

I've got no way to tell if these are fake or not, but I'm iffy about them.

Mainly the fact they were released out of order (Leak1 being the latest one uploaded 20 minutes after all the others which were apparently uploaded around the same time) and that there's no Leak2 or Leak4.

But that's not really grounds to debunk them, so I'll take it with a grain of salt.

Also note that this is just speculation and it doesn't mean that these four really are in Smash 4. Just saying that it's a possibility though.

Fingers crossed for the DLC info being legit, I guess. I concede, this is probably real.

Well, if you're submitting the most objectionable content for the ESRB to issue their rating, it makes some sense to pick things like that. After all, how else will they know how high of a "sexual suggestiveness" warning to put in the rating box?

Welp, okay then, I'll buy it. Somehow the boatloads of trophies and modes and stuff is more convincing to me than videos.

Guess I'll avoid this thread from now on, then. Still hoping for unlockables and DLC (Isaac is the one character I think is really missing still), but since this is pretty much guaranteed to be real, all I have to gain from following the thread now is less enjoyment in discovery.

Edit: That does make sense, actually! All those trophy screenshots are sexual or gross or mention religious words or something like that.

@Balmung: Makes sense. And I honestly forgot that this was supposed to be a leak from an ESRB rep.

That does make me think...if Isaac's not playable, that means he's probably back as an Assist Trophy. But I wonder if characters already being Assist Trophies would prevent them from ever being added as DLC characters.

I guess if they really don't want to do that, they could always use Matthew as the DLC character...Same goes for using another Ray model assuming Ray MK III is an assist again.

Keep in mind this: nowhere did this particular leaker say that this is the final roster. We may still get Ridley, Mewtwo, Mach Rider, Issac or other characters that have not been shown yet.

Also, there's two or three different people that are claiming to be leakers. One said DLC, the rest didn't.

It should be noted that amongst the leak was the forum post listing Lucas, Wolf, Chorus Men, Ice Climbers, and Snake as DLC. While that has been the least-well-supported of the leak, it could be theorized that these 5 could be amongst the unlockables.

But again, take with a few grains of salt. Truth be told I don't mind DLC characters, but I think it would be....uncharacteristic of Sakurai to use them.

Let's have a vote. Who thinks the leak is fake, and who thinks the leak is real?

Sakurai did also say that he had no current plans for DLC in a previous interview. Any DLC will most likely be free though.

As much as I want Shulk and Dr. Mario to be in, I wholeheartedly believe this leak is fake.

Well, I was skeptical when all we had was this stuff,◊ but I don't see how it could reasonably be fake with all the pictures and videos we have now.

Then again, there could be fakes mixed into the legit stuff, for whatever reasons the leaker has.

Adding to nigelstack's post, this image◊ of the All-Star Mode bottom screen display has a lock, indicating that not all characters are unlocked. Though that might simply be a different save than the character select screen. ESRB only receives video, after all.

Speaking of the above, the same leaker has claimed◊ that there are three characters we haven't seen yet, a DK character, a Pokemon, and a character from another series. He apparently later clarified Dixie and Mewtwo to be the first two, though I can't seem to find any image of the post (can't access the site it's on from work). I'd take this stuff with a grain of salt, given that all we have is his word.

I was sure that this was fake (due to the fact the ESRB never play the games they rate and the fact that Shulk looked uncomfortably like Little Mac in the images) but now, I'm not sure. It could go either way.

My stance on this has always been "wait until official word". Leaks and rumors are sometimes interesting enough for me to pass the time, but I never take them to heart.

...Which means it doesn't matter to me if it's real or fake.
