Name: Lightning
Species: Mega Scizor
Gender: Male
Moves: Bullet Punch, Fury Cutter, Aerial Ace, Roost
History: Lightning was born normal, just like the rest of his family, but he knew he couldn’t stay. He wasn’t appreciated by his brothers and sisters. It was survival of the fittest from day one, and Lightning wasn’t the fittest. He was always second best to his older sister. Of course, if you weren’t the best, you were nothing. He eventually decided that enough was enough and he left his clan. After about a year of travelling, he came across an Ariados, who took the young Scyther under her wing and taught him everything she knew. Lightning soon left the teachings of the kindly Ariados, and travelled Johto, searching for a Metal Coat. He did find one, but it was in the possession of an Onix, who didn’t want to give it up. After much persuasion and beating, the Onix relinquished his evolutionary item to the Scyther. Eventually, after evolution, Lightning discovered an odd opening in the Ruins of Alph, of which he called home. He went inside and discovered a strange stone, one that could change his form, make him stronger. He spent his days near the ruins, stone tied around his neck, waiting for a challenger. It was like this until he heard of Mewtwo's cause, and decided he wanted to aide him in his plan.
Personality: Ever since a Scyther, Lightning was always erratic and mischievous. He abused his natural agility to play practical jokes on others. Despite this, he can be rather serious when he wants to be.
Other interesting trivia: Lightning has considered, multiple times, returning to the place where he was born. Each time he has decided otherwise, despite his want of being acknowledged.

My character is Mewtwo.
- Name: Mewtwo (he sees no point in adopting a nickname)
- Species: Mega Mewtwo X, sometimes Mega Mewtwo Y

- Moves (the choice of four): Psystrike, Aura Sphere, Shadow Ball, Calm Mind
- History: I said all of Mewtwo’s history above. His history is strongly intertwined with the plot of the roleplay.
- Personality:
- Mewtwo’s morality is ambiguous. Is he a revolutionary who dislikes the way the Legends run the world and their petty squabbling, or a villain who would rather reign in Hell than serve in Heaven, and is motivated mostly by spite? Or is he somewhere in between, a Byronic Hero who wants to change the status quo and make a new world where he has something vaguely close to a family?
- Mewtwo makes it a point to win over the loyalty of those who fight for him through bravery, skill in battle, inspiring words, and tactical knowledge. However, Mewtwo has problems forming emotional attachments despite wanting intimacy deep down inside. While he may come across as the great leader to rival Arceus, there isn't much warmth to him. It takes nothing less than true love to break through to whatever warmth he has inside.
- Mewtwo is very emotionally damaged. He doesn't express much emotion at all. He never smiles, or laughs, or cries. And he rarely gets angry, though his anger is a terrible sight to behold. He talks in a regal manner of speaking. He enjoys classical music and classic literature – I based him off Satan from Paradise Lost, a book which he read. He acknowledges the similarities between himself and Satan, but doesn't admit his flaws, most notably pride, are similar. Mewtwo considers himself the ultimate being. Well, he doesn't say outright he is, but there is some haughtiness to him. Mewtwo is also completely implacable in the pursuit of his goals. He knows what he wants, and sets out on finding a way to get it.
- Other interesting trivia: He has two Mewtwonites, and uses them interchangeably. Mewtwo uses special attacks, so while that makes the Mewtwonite Y the logical choice for him he prefers the Mewtwonite X. The dual typing removes his weaknesses to Bug and Dark and gives his Aura Sphere STAB. And he looks manlier with the Mewtwonite X. It’s worth noting that Arceus doesn’t know about the type change that comes with the Mewtwonite X, and Mewtwo plans to use this to catch Arceus off balance when they next fight.

There's a first for everything.
Now, the plan is to leave the signup page open throughout the game. I'll only stop accepting players - at least temporarily - if one of two clauses are met.
- There are no available Mega Pokemon. With at least 37 in total, as well as any made available due to players leaving the game, this is unlikely.
- I would hold off on letting people into the game during a dramatic scene or climatic battle.
As for when I launch the game itself, I'm going to wait until there are five or six players. So far there are just two - myself included.

Well, I hate to say this, but there just isn't enough interest in this roleplay to make it happen.
Perhaps I might try this some other time. At some other point in time for this forum, perhaps, or on another roleplay forum. Otherwise, this roleplay is a miscarriage.
Anyway, leaving TV Tropes. Here's to some happy roleplaying on other threads.
The world in which Pokémon inhabit contains six regions; Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos. Despite the great differences in these regions, they are all ruled by a great Pantheon of Legendary Pokémon, with Arceus as the Supreme Legend. These Legends oversaw the creation of the world, and have a guiding – sometimes destructive – hand in the course it runs. Some were there from the very beginning. Others came into the scheme of things later. And some rose to providence by proving their strength above any other mortal creature.
The Legends came from every region in the world. They had their differences. Sometimes there was conflict between them, even. But they still co-existed together. The world still turned. The natural order mostly remained stable.
All that changed when a younger Pokémon ascended to the Pantheon. He was born for a life of destruction. He left the artificial womb he was conceived within in an all-consuming rage upon realising his intended purpose. This Pokémon withdrew into a remote cave deep within the heart of Kanto to meditate. He resigned himself to a wakeful slumber without end, to separate himself from a mortal world with no place for him.
His name was Mewtwo.
It was over a decade until Mewtwo was discovered again, though it was not a mortal soul who caught sight of him. It was none other than Arceus Himself. Arceus offered Mewtwo a place in the Pantheon. Mewtwo initially respected Arceus because he had finally found someone he could call an equal. As time drew on, however, Mewtwo grew to resent Arceus and the other Legends in power, be they Major Legends such as Rayquaza or Giratina, or Minor Legends such as Celibi or Manaphy. Mewtwo cited their apathy towards the escalating problems mortals faced, though it may have been mere jealousy that drove Mewtwo to do what he did.
Whatever the case, Mewtwo sowed discord among the Legends in order to spark a revolution – he hoped to replace Arceus as the Supreme Legend.
Mewtwo’s rebellion failed.
Those Legends who had pledged themselves to Mewtwo had returned to Arceus’s side. Mewtwo was alone when he was cast out. Now, no one would accept a fallen one such as him – Legend or mortal. This did not stop Mewtwo. He roamed the world again for a very long time in an attempt to find some sort of power – any advantage – that would allow Mewtwo to try again.
One fateful day, Mewtwo discovered a Mega Stone while travelling through the Unknown Dungeon in Kalos. He had researched fables about such stones, and his research pointed him to that dungeon. When he picked up the stone he found, he changed. The newer form of Mewtwo was taller, stronger, and his body was shaped differently. He had physical power which surpassed his already incredible special power. When he put down the stone again, he had returned to his original form. Mewtwo created an amulet for himself, having come to the conclusion the stone needed to stay a part of his person.
There were other Mega Stones out there. Dozens of species, with their own Mega Stone. These stones bestowed upon the wearer compatible with the stone the power of a Legend. Mewtwo sought to collect all the stones – or find the ones who had discovered the stones – and recruit Pokémon to his cause with the promise of limitless power as the new rulers of the Pantheon.
And so began the tale of the Usurpers. Are these Usurpers heroes or villains? Or are they something in between? Only time will tell.
Here is a list of the Mega Pokémon below. First in, first serve, so those Pokémon already picked are not available. If a player leaves the game, their Pokémon will be available again – provided the Pokémon in question is still alive.

These Mega Pokémon are the ones who join Mewtwo’s cause and aide him in an attempt to overthrow the Old Legends. Some of them are already Legends in the Pantheon, such as Demi-Legends like Garchomp and Tyranitar, or the twins Latias and Latios.
How you introduce your Pokémon to the game is up to you. Levels are not taken into consideration.
