I hope Nintendo gives them the ok to publish on their systems and give them the funding they need to complete the project.
The guys behind Tiny Metal did get a funding source and even better, they got a green light from Steam.
I've only played AW 2 and DOR. DOR is the only game in the series that I like.
Where there's life, there's hope.I liked Advance Wars 2 and can tolerate Days of Ruin. I got Advance Wars 1 on the Wii U eShop and the campaign is decent. I also have Dual Strike and holy tapdancing Sturm is it broken.
Dual Strike is the only game I lack.
I really wish I'd picked it up years ago for DS when i had the chance.

"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobFret not. It's on the Wii U eShop just like Advance Wars 1. Unless you do not have a Wii U.

WHAT.
I only recall Advance Wars 1 and 2 being on the eshop. Dual Strike is the only one in the main trilogy I haven't played.
It's true. Dual Strike is on the Wii U eShop.

Yeah, I know its on the Wii U shop.
But I've got other games to play now. And it's so much of a hassle playing DS games on the Wii U. Especially ones that take a decent amount of time like Advance Wars.
I'd definitely play it if I could get it on the 3DS for portability, but as it is I've got other stuff like BOTW to get though.

"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobI'll be honest here: I really like Sturm and hope that if Advance Wars: Dual Strike is ever remade he is playable and unlocking him requires getting an S rank in either the Normal or Hard Campaign.
Sturm's Day to day ability would give him 120% defence against direct units, a movement cost of 1 across all terrain except when it snows, and a 20% attack boost to all of his units during sandstorms. CO power would be Sand Strike, which causes a sandstorm for two days, deals 1 HP of damage to all enemy units, and gives him 140% direct defence. His Super CO Power would be Sand Rage, which causes a sandstorm for two days, deals 2 HP of damage to all enemy units, and raises his direct defence to 160%.
No meteor strike?
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireNo meteor strike. Von Bolt has a nasty substitule in Ex Machina, which deals 3 HP in damage to a group of units and forces them to skip their next turn. This also creates a weather trio as Olaf has snow with his CO powers, Drake brings rain with his Super CO Power Typhoon, and Sturm's new CO Power and Super CO Power cause sandstorms. I think Sturm would have a 60% tag rating with Hawke because of what happened at the end of Advance Wars 2 and another 60% tag rating with Von Bolt because of how the old man is using Black Hole.

I knew this beforehand, but I'm still disappointed that Andy, Olaf, Kanbei, and Drake (plus Flak and Adder) are a complete no-show in the Dual Strike campaign. Clones don't count. It certainly makes it more difficult to give them exp.
I know that you can use them in the Hard Campaign, but it is annoying that they don't show up in the Normal Campaign.
That said, Hard Campaign is Hard Campaign. Sure, it's a breeze compared to the last two games, but there is still a strong likelihood of That One Level. Including the first in the campaign.
True. Advance Wars 1 has a hellishly-difficult Hard Campaign, but Advance Wars 2's Hard Campaign is tougher but still a fair challenge. I remember Advance Wars 1 and how difficult it is for go through Sami's missions in Green Earth.
I saw a video on why Kanbei's Error was so difficult on Hard. Also mentioned Rivals!, given that it's a Brutal Bonus Level. The last mission's a Classic Video Game Screw You in every possible way (since spawning Kanbei requires a perfect run through his missions as well as going through Sonja's excruciating missions and Eagle triggers Rivals!. Both of these characters are ideal for dealing with the last proper mission; if you can't go through Kanbei's Error and don't want to be going through Rivals!, you're stuck with Sami by default, who is a terrible character for the level. The only other option would be to hire Drake).
Indeed. At least Drake is useful because his CO power can make Sturm waste a turn repairing his troops each time Tsunami goes off. Olaf can negate Sturm's movement for a turn as well with Blizzard.

I think I speak for everyone that it would have been better for Sami to be on the left in blue and Max to be on the right in green if none of the foreign CO conditions were met. Sadly, it was the other way around.
Yeah, that would be neat. Better yet, if you could choose your CO for each army and not have to contend with Andy in the middle every time the map is played.

About fucking time. Hope we get to see more of Wars Worlds first, then maybe Rubinelle/Lazuria as DLC.
It's equally likely that we could get the other way around or even a new world.
Honestly, I'm fine with having a new world. I feel like that frees up the setting more.
I'm guessing you guys missed my post, but there was actually a Kickstarter trying to make a spiritual successor to Advance Wars called Tiny Metal - I posted up the thread myself.
It sadly didn't make the funding quota however, and the team responsible is now trying to figure out an alternative means of supporting and developing the game.
