[up][up],[up]That's typically what I try to do, but I feel like I'm getting potshotted way more often than would've happened in the Wii U version... who knows.

The Demon Lord's Plan: I am amused that they worked "furious, outraged, SICK with anger!" into the chapter, but I'm even more amused that failing to summon the Imprisoned apparently creates four or five miniature ones.

I like how, while none of what Linkle fixes is directly tied to the main plot, all of her actions are invaluable in preventing major setbacks to the main hero group.

[up] Well, they couldn't directly implement her into the main story, so they settled for expanding upon what happened during the lulls between the scenarios (kind of like how Cia's Tale expanded on what Cia's group was doing before to get to the points where the various scenarios happened).

I meant that in the sense of "I'm glad Linkle wasn't just on the other side of the world, contributing nothing to the the rest of the cast's efforts."

[up] You could also cut the Linkle chapters altogether and not lose a thing though, but then again, you could do that with Cia's Tale and the Wind Waker Epilogue and still have a fairly comprehensive story.

What I'm saying is, Linkle's story is something that expands upon the base game, but not really a part of it. I agree that the way they handled it was a good way though (the "she isn't doing anything over on the other side of the world doing stuff of little importance" thing).

Also, almost everyone but Impa being somewhat dismissive of her, yet still giving her credit where it's due will never stop being funny to me.

At least Linkle's Tale does a better job incorporating itself into the story, whereas Cia's Tale ended up having a plot hole or two (like Midna being an imp when Cia first meets her).

I also love the blatant references to other games in Linkle's Tale; Skull Kid steals a valuable object from Link(le) in the forest like in MM, Darunia blocks the temple door and goes after Vol(va)g(i)a like in OOT, and Twili Midna saving Zelda was a nod to the real OTP their relationship in TP.

[up] Cia's Tale was made before Twili Midna was released as a paid DLC character though, so not much they could do with that one.

They could have made it so that it wasn't their first meeting, or had it so that Cia transformed Midna right before starting the level.

Might've been a bit janky, but I'd've preferred it over an outright plot hole.

Agreed.

Man, though, I just adore Linkle's final chapter. "The other hero", indeed.

[up][up] With the way the scenario goes, i.e. trying to defeat Midna to get in Zant's good graces before finding out that was a fool's errand, that's unfortunately impossible.

[up] It's pretty nice, but much like the other scenarios in Linkle's Tale, you could cut it out and not lose anything.

Must you always be so negative? The fact that it could be cut (which is obvious since it wasn't originally there) doesn't lessen its value.

[up] Indeed it doesn't. As far as expanding upon the game goes, it's pretty valid. But it exists for nothing else other than to create a conflict where it previously didn't exist, much like Cia's Tale (though I still have to give some credit to both of them: Linkle's Tale doesn't wear out it's welcome or create many inconsistencies with the main plot which is what I'd want from an expansion, and Cia's Tale has Wizzro being the backstabber opportunist the game says he is).

I see that this isn't particularly chiding criticism, but the same can be said word-for-word about the Wind Waker episodes and even the Ganondorf extension of the original story.

The primary plot's already loose and questionable as it is; there's virtually no harm in piling more onto it.

[up] The Ganondorf part is more of a part of the main story due to how the it's set up. It's not comparable to either Cia's Tale, Linkle's Tale, or the Wind Waker epilogue.

Doesn't that just make it more possible though? "Side A and Side B are fighting. I want to get on Side B's, so I'll weaken Side A by turning them into an imp and then defeat them to get in B's good graces".

Alternatively, "Side A and Side B are fighting. I want to team up with one. Side A's probably still super pissed about that time I turned her into an imp, so I'll go with Side B instead."

[up] Yes, but not at the time. Twili Midna as a model didn't exist until the Twilight Princess DLC pack, and furthermore, she existed as separate DLC in the Japanese version. And judging by the way Legends handled the now-in-the-base-game DLC, they kept a lot of content as faithful as possible to the Wii U game given how the only Wii U and Legends Characters with any presence in the other base game Adventure Maps outside of Great Sea (and the missions where they're unlockable) is Twili Midna (on the Twilight Map), Young Link (on the Termina Map), and Skull Kid (for one single mission on the Termina Map... and it's not the Dark Ruler mission), which is largely faithful to the Wii U Twilight and Termina Maps.

Yeah, I know? Which is why I'm saying they could've added a line of dialogue/narration about Cia transforming Midna off-screen to work around the lack of Twili Midna model, rather than having her 'first' meeting with Midna be in her imp form.

[up] It could work, though it'd be weird due to how the narrator segments work: They typically show images of the characters involved in the narration, and it'd be quite weird to show Imp Midna, but not Twili Midna as well if Cia impified Midna in the narration.

Not any weirder than contradicting Midna's entire reason for fighting against Cia though tongue

I've forgotten the exact lines, but perhaps the syntax Midna was meant to have given was more like "If Cia hadn't shown up, I'd have squashed Zant like a bug and gotten back to being seven feet tall by now."

I got the Wii U version recently as I forgot about the 3DS version. Love it.

I do however wish there were Zora's on the heroes side and that Midna's army of not evil monsters didn't dissappear after her introduction chapter.

Well, I mean, yeah obviously. Adding more story will mean adding more conflict. I don't think that's a bad or unexpected thing. I will say that I like that they added story largely (Midna's cameo in Cia's tale being an exception) added conflict that is possible with the story that was already given, and makes sense to have happened.

Shout-outs to the guy who thought it'd be funny to have Zant defeat Ganondorf without harming a Bokoblin in a quiz mission.
You can't even do a WPS without fear of failing. The fact that someone thought to do this is hilarious.

I think I heard someone say you can drag the Bokoblin to one corner, make it stop aggroing you , and fight Ganondorf in the other corner.

I haven't managed it myself, though.

The Water Temple in Legends is beginning to annoy me with it's Hard Skulltula.

I defeated King Dodongo while keeping the characters of Nominal importance over 50% HP, but still nothing. Heck, even tried keeping the Goron commanders alive, but nothing. And I am using a Giant Blade too.

Even with the Fairy able to restore HP, this is some real BS.

...Aaaand now I got it finally. I guess I had to make sure they never hit that threshold in the first place.
