Improving responses on Lost And Found

By both my personal experience and the (admittedly anecdotal) accounts of others, Lost And Found has a fairly major problem with the people responding to questions providing bad answers. For instance, there's been multiple cases of a trope being suggesting because its name has something to do with what someone is looking for. I'm not sure what exactly can be done about this, but it's increasingly frustrating to deal with, so I thought I'd try and publicly raise the issue here.

Bumping this, because a large percentage of responses are still pretty awful.

I don't know what we can do besides rename every one of them, and that would require evidence that each one is being used incorrectly on it's page and wicks.

Trope names are only part of the problem, really. The larger issue is just that there's too many superficial or just plain bad responses and no real way to filter through them. In particular, I've noticed a recurring pattern of people repeatedly, insistently offering up shoehorned tropes for an answer rather than accept we don't have it (Tropes Are Flexible gets abused here).

I'm not sure if there's anything that can be done about this, given the nature of the site, but the problem feels like it's getting worse so I thought I'd at least try and raise awareness of it.

My experience browsing Lost And Found (and YKTTW for that matter) is pretty similar. The only real solution is to change the culture itself, and I'm not sure how to start with that.

Unless we want to identify users contributing to the problem and discontinue their L&F privileges.

That seems excessively harsh.

Maybe write up a set of guide lines for both asking and answering on Lost and Found.

YTTKW has a fair few issues and to me one of them is how it is laid out. Experiences may vary.

Maybe have some forum integration? Seems like it would be easier to manage if new questions and such showed up as a checkmark like it.
