Interesting that it's Silent Hills as in plural.
Dunno how to feel about that.
Oh really when? This name gives me the inclination this is a Continuity Reboot.

Which is a good thing. I've wanted to try the Silent Hill series before, but the games are too old for me to play them at all.
I'm a critical person but I'm a nice guy when you get to know me. Now, I should be writing.Huh? The most recent game in the main series came out two years ago. Two of the three PS 2 games were released in an HD collection, and the original is available on PSN.
I'm also not sure what the point of a reboot would be. Barring 1, 3, and Origins (which I personally think of as "the Alessa trilogy"), the games' plots are tangentially connected at best. It would be like rebooting Final Fantasy— there wasn't an over-arching plot to begin with, so why would you bother with a continuity reboot?
Is it going to be in first person? I've heard that from places.
Haven't actually played the demo myself so I don't know.
Oh really when?Perhaps the plural refers to the multiple versions of Silent Hill that colocate: the sunlit Silent Hill, the fog-shrouded Silent Hill, and the dark Silent Hill?
I've never actually played any of the games but the third, although I rather enjoyed that: the later games didn't catch my attention, and while I'd like to play the first two, I don't own a console. (I could, perhaps, buy the games and then emulate them, but I'm not inclined to that as things stand.)

My Games & WritingThe teaser video showed sections in the first person that looked like they were being played. From what I understand, the demo seems more of a tech demo or a proof-of-concept, since they keep calling it a "teaser."
Ooh! maybe we'll finally get a game where we get to see the normal Silent Hill that operates as a resort town! I always thought it'd be pretty cool to spend some time there before a mysterious fog suddenly rolled in and everyone around you disappeared...

Interesting. I dunno how I'd feel if it was in first person. On the one hand that'd be pretty neat but on the other I like my Silent Hills in awkward third person.
Oh really when?x5 I was unaware of the PSN having the titles for download, but I don't have a PS 3 anyway.
Having moved over to PC in recent years, that also presented and issue for playing the series.

I'm a critical person but I'm a nice guy when you get to know me. Now, I should be writing. What a way to make an announcement. Oh Kojima.
this place needs me hereThe images I've seen look awfully sexy. I wonder if they're borrowing the FOX Engine stuff for some of the mocap.
Oh really when?Homecoming's available on Steam.
...but it's widely considered one of the weakest entries in the franchise.

I tend to start franchisees from the beginning for such reasons. Should I play Homecoming and then the others, my view of the series would always be through the lens and expectations that Homecoming presented me with.
Also, generally, people tend to find their entry point into the series to be the best game regardless of quality.
I'm a critical person but I'm a nice guy when you get to know me. Now, I should be writing. That's quite the ensemble working on it...
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireYou can get 2-4 on pc if you know where to look, the first one too though that's an entirely unofficial fan-made thing.
The girl from the twitch-stream sounds an awful lot like that Amnesia The Dark Descent-let's player whose name I forget at the moment. @Le Garcon, said stream would also be where the first-person rumours stem from, I assume.
Wonder what Twin Perfect will say about this.
Where is the second game available for PC?

My Games & WritingEeh.. legally?
Nuuuh I'd rather not imagine but probably more Ruined Forever bullcrap -_-"
I'm wondering if this is where the remnants of that shelved Del Toro horror game ended up.
edit: ah, it was MangaMinx I was thinking about before.

I thought the Del Torro Horror game was The Evil Within or whatever is coming out in the next few months?
I'm a critical person but I'm a nice guy when you get to know me. Now, I should be writing.Oh, no, that's by Shinji Mikami, the guy who made Resident Evil. This is the del Toro title, apparently still in development by an "undisclosed developer". Could've been merged with this, who knows.
I've never played a Silent Hill game, but the involvement of Del Toro and Reedus has piqued my interest.
You guys like Let's Plays? You guys like shameless plugs? Well, come on down!Just finished watching her playthrough video.
It's actually really exciting to see her eventually stumble upon the twist reveal cutscene after she stumbles around for a while. I wish this hadn't gone viral so quickly so it would have caught more people by surprise. I don't think she even knew who Del Toro was.

Dumbo
Sony has announced a new Silent Hill game with an all-star team: directed by Hideo Kojima, with input by Guillermo del Toro, and motion capture by The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus.
Polygon article
Bloody Disgusting article
Like MGS V, the game was initially teased as another project, called "P.T." Earlier today, it was announced by Sony at Gamescon, with a video teaser, and an "interactive teaser" went up on PSN for Playstation 4. The demo revealed the title "Silent Hills."
Thoughts? The apparent plural is kind of odd to me, but this is certainly an impressive team they've put together for it.
