Basically it's LARPing meets reality television. The first episode was kind of clumsy but since they had to establish the setting and introduce the players I'm giving them a pass. This time. I really would have liked it if actual characters had been written up, preferably with the help of the players.

The one thing I liked was the Vizier. He says, "Now that's interesting," like he really doesn't know what's going on. They did make the fates god-like. I'm curious about the queen. Will she be seen?

I liked the Drill Sergeant Nasty too. It's clear that he's skeptical but he's been given a job and by the Fates he's going to do it as well as he can. I also liked that at least one player considered going back for the designated victim. I suspect there was someone off camera waving his arms and shaking his head or holding up a sign saying "NO! STICK WITH THE SCRIPT!" Also liked that while they were waiting at least some of them were thinking about a breakout.

Added some tropes.

wild mass guessThe reason why the Sun Spear isn't locked up in a vault or hasn't already been put together is that it's currently depowered. It's being charged by life forces of the Paladins and the reason why the failed paladins have ghostly portraits in the Fates hideaway is that their spirits are being used to fully charge their pieces.

Just saw the first episode (on Hulu.) I admit I was surprised by the production values; from the narration to the real castle, it really does immerse you into the show! The only part I didn't like was that the Paladin elimination was by vote-off, rather than it being The Fates' choice. Oh well I guess it looks more fair that way.

I don't usually watch reality shows, but I think I'll continue watching this one for a while more.

Why oh why won't they get rid of Legolas Christian? He's bloody useless. If he's so good with weapons as one of his defenders said then why did he flub the weapons test? Christian, I dub thee Scrappy.

I caught the last half of the last episode. Nifty show, though I know I missed the fun parts. I'll give it another chance on a full episode next week but so far it's looking neat.

Though I, too, am a bit annoyed that the Fates don't make the choice. Or, Hell, that there isn't even an attempt to make it look like they're the deciding factor. You would think the show would have some way to have the vote happen off-screen so the Fates can look like Fates rather than overblown game pieces.

Yeah, the first half was interesting. I found the Hag a hoot and the challenge was cool.

Christian is gone! Yes! He finally made one dick move too many.

And once again Bonnie wins the Adorkable award for her reaction to the bird masks.

I'm glad he's gone, rather than Bonnie.

Somehow I think it'll be one of the women who wins this one. The modern ideal of a hero doesn't necessarily favor guys anymore. While you need strength to pull off a lot of things, it takes brains too. Someone who lacks the utter muscle of someone like Patrick has to figure out how to better apply what muscle they do have.

It wouldn't surprise me if the game was won by that woman who grabbed the back of the battering ram and just wouldn't give up til her team won.

I would like Bonnie to win but don't expect her to because of her serious physical shortcomings. She's a Spoony Bard. On the other hand, I really, really like her and will be sad when she finally goes.

Kind of rooting for Shondo. He got serious muscle, isn't a genius but not stupid either and seems to be a geniunely nice guy.

Damn, the show got preempted for me by football. -_- Oh well I'll watch it on Hulu.

And yeah, I think Shondo has the best chances to win, as long as the challenges don't get too puzzling. Btw, how do you think the show will end? Will there be a mock-battle with Vorlox?

What channel is this on? From the sounds of it, it sounds like this is a worthy successor to Who Wants To Be A Superhero, in that it's a reality show that promotes being a good person instead of "playing the game".

Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Great

ABC and yeah, now that you mention it there is a certain resembalance to Who Wants To Be A Supherhero? with slightly better production values and slightly less hokum (due to the absence of Stan Lee)

It probably will be a battle with Vorlox. Probably not a fatal one, unless they either don't want a sequel or have a plan for the next campaign. I don't think Bonnie will win, but I'd bet one of the other two remaining women. Yes, I know, the guys mostly have them beat for muscle, but that just means the women have to get creative, it doesn't necessarily mean they'll lose. We'll just have to wait and see.

Lina won over Shondo and Andrew! Didn't see that one coming.

I was very happy with the winner (Lina) and how the show ended (the battle with between Verlox and ALL the Paladins.) I really enjoyed the show and I would like to see a second season, although I suspect there won't be one (they started 'burning off' episodes towards the end, not a good signal.)

I liked that underdog Lina won and the return of the Paladins and the battle in the courtyard were[awesome]. The fight between Lina and Verlox was too obviously staged and you don't wield a spear like that. I liked that they set the stage for a possible second season with the Vizier's escape but alas not expecting one because reality shows main attraction to the networks are their cheapness and for a reality show this must have been pretty expensive to make.
