In the trope's description, it says "Any impressive- and scientific-sounding, but ultimately nonsensical utterance, full of Sci-Fi Name Buzzwords."

However, the opening quote, and some of the examples make sense:

Doctor: Looks like a spatio-temporal hyperlink. Mickey: What's that? Doctor: No idea, just made it up. Didn't want to say "Magic Door".

A spatio-temporal hyperlink, from the name is a Space-Time Linkage, which is what it is a link between two different times and places.

An example that makes sense is: "Super-electro-magnetic-shrapnel cannon", a cannon that shoots shrapnel, with electro-magnetism, a coilgun or railgun.

But, that was on splitting the article...

You're nitpicking. The technobabble may make sense on some level, if you parse it down far enough and have a broad enough knowledge of the field it's supposedly about, but without doing that it sounds like just babble.

Declining to open.

So, then what about the super cannon example, is that technobabble or not, and what makes technobabble different from Jargon, Meaningless Meaningful Words, Sespedilian Loquaciousness, and other word-meaning based tropes?
