A biography is a retelling of a person's life. In non-fiction, this is usually a famous or interesting person. An autobiography is when a person recounts their own life (often with the help of a ghost writer.) There have also been fictional biographies, and biographies about real people that might as well be fictional.

This thread is for discussing biographies you've read, or want to read. Note that the forum rules about flame wars apply, so if a controversial person comes up, use caution.

The most recent biography I've read was A Curious Man by Neal Thompson, which tells the life story of Robert Ripley, the cartoonist who gave us Believe It Or Not. A full life, but one that didn't quite have it all.
