In short this is a character driven roleplay meant for exploring ideas and awesome titanic battles, though here's the plot backdrop: Having begun twenty years ago during 1995, biological abominations with amazing and bizarre powers arrived. Quickly dubbed Eldritchians by the UN, it became apparent there were more of these monsters. While tensions and despair is kept low by their infrequent appearances, research and development of mecha have proceeded more urgently than ever before.

For those that haven't read the signups, this Earth was basically like ours until two meteors filled with shiny alien stuff crashed in 1940. Technology jumping leaps and bounds as a result, mecha eventually hit the market like any old vehicle. The UN scooping up the remains of the meteors, they become the main authority on mecha complete with their own artificial country named Avalon. While space travel has become a somewhat common thing complete with orbiting space colonies, most of humanity is still on Earth. Finally, to pilot a combat mecha you need to obtain a license in Avalon proving you're not a raging psychopath in the process.

They work just fine for me. Though since you linked to legacy character as part of describing Samuel's race, does that mean he's a clone to some extent? Oh, and a quick naming of important CACHE Avalon personal: Gerald Long (former commander, exclusively focuses on the mecha), Fiona Mulier-Long (Gerald's wife, head of the medical division and specializes with unusual humanoids), Melissa Winters (Head of the PR department, is the uncredited creator of the novel and graphic adaptions of CACHE activities), Tobias Timmins (most dangerous CACHE security agent, infamously known for trashing New York in a drunken brawl involving mecha), Sasha Sanders (current commander of CACHE Avalon and former Seelie pilot, technically Gerald's subordinate), Lucas Mulier (Fiona's younger brother and head of the logistics division, accompanied by his child Leo Mulier), Samson Long (Gerald and Fiona's twenty year old son, helps out everywhere but is legally barred from piloting due to an incident five years ago), Faith Mulier (Sixteen year old pilot of the humanoid Seelie called Solaris, is disliked due to her seemingly rude and egotistical personality), and James Keller (serves as a pilot of M Ps when required, otherwise is head of security).

There's a couple other important personal, but they're just pilots. Anyways, just take your time Truth.

I quite like the crew of characters so far. By the way, feel free to write just a gigantic post when the roleplay starts to establish your characters. Though besides that, anything in particular you guys intend to focus on? I might have "Episode 1" include the activation of a new Seelie, only for an accidental flaw in its enemy detection system to label every moving target a threat. It depends though.

Besides that, are there any questions or things you guys want to discuss? I could go on explaining CACHE, individual characters, or random world stuff if so desired.

Initially the common enemies will be other mecha pilots, ones using them for criminal purposes. The Eldritchians would be straight up boss fights, while others like Ruin (a half Eldritchian) and the Feral Falchion (aforementioned mecha in its berserk state) would be more warm-up or mid boss in difficulty. Ruin is even intended as a recurring antagonist. Though while Eldritchians will only pop up with my permission, pretty much anything can be an enemy. For on foot battles there's the possibility of (feral) Mutants, and I'll even allow mecha-scale boss fights with mutants (by themselves, like one externally jacking a mecha, constructing a giant body from junk, etc all without actually piloting a mecha or being giant) if desired.

Seelie is the term CACHE denotes their in-house mecha, which are also frequently Super Robot (except the MP models, which are almost straight up real robot). The special Seelie are loaded with all kinds of goodies that aren't present in their mass produced versions. In addition with the arrival of the Sky-Blazers and Eldritchians the special Seelie are to an extent biomechanical so as to use the powers those species process. Berserk units are referred to as Unseelie, though MP models can't go berserk.

CACHE as a whole is an international law enforcing and peacekeeping organization created by the UN. Upon the arrival of Sky-Blazers and Eldritchians they've also become the main research division of alien biology, working on applications like curing fatal diseases or correcting truly disabling disorders & defects. Their eventual aim is to use Eldritchian biology to advance the human race even further. Finally, the heads of CACHE are a group of six to nine who remain secretive so rivals and enemies won't know who to target. While their word is ultimately law for CACHE, they're usually content with their various commanders doing their own thing.

In addition to their production of mecha, CACHE also creates artificial beings varying from artificial humans to straight up robots and everything between. Lots of CACHE's research is first tested through the creation of one of these beings, Fae for those with Eldritchian biology and Droid for any non-Eldritchian cybernetic or mechanical entity. While Droids are public knowledge, the Fae remain a secretive existence due to worry vehemently anti-Eldritchian or anti-CACHE groups would try to bring them down because of or with that reveal. In addition, there are four (and a half) generations of Fae. Gen 1 have a number of flaws, Gen 2 are more or less perfectly human half-breeds, Gen 3 are psychologically unstable due to attempts to modify the Eldritchian biology, Gen 3.5 are the slightly more stable and sociable result, and Gen 4 is relatively new using flat out artificial Eldritchian biology to good results so far.

I'll go into more detail about the NP Cs later but for now: Gerald Long isn't too fond of people outside his family, and frequently doesn't treat others well. His expertise in Biological Studies and Mechanical Armor & Vehicular Engineering however makes him a valuable resource. He's also one of the first people to propose using Eldritchian biology. Though while he's rather rude, he's much friendlier in his wife's company. He's also rather concerned for his children Samson and Levi, along with showing unusual kindness to Fae and Droids that share his wife's biology.

Rendered unable to pilot due to neurological and physical scarring caused by her Seelie being in its super state for too long, Gerald eventually made Sasha Sanders commander in one part pity and one part because he couldn't keep up with everything. Her heroic nature leaves her wanting to keep fighting "the bad guys", deploying drones and probing attacks partially to feel like she's still contributing.

Finally, Faith Mulier is a Fae (specifically the one ending 1st Gen and starting Gen 2) who is 25% Sky-Blazer leaving only 25% of her biology as human. Having practically been raised to be a pilot and her Fae nature, she has rather poor social interaction skills despite all the media she has reviewed. She pilots the Seelie Solaris Beta, the original one having went Unseelie in reaction to an Eldritchian nearly killing her "big sister" five years ago. Resulting from this event, she has parts of fallen mecha incorporated into Solaris to honor those that have fallen in combat. However, in combination with her poor social skills and a desire to belong she comes across as arrogant and boastful.

What are Sky-Blazers?

Sky-Blazers are a race of human aliens with elemental powers, and the potency of their power is based on their biological mass amount. Thus they commonly pilot mecha using cloned biology to enhance their power, and it was a coming of age ritual for them. However they were forced to flee their homeworld due to the Eldritchians invading. The particular batch that arrived on Earth took forty years to get there, and their species may or may not have sent those meteors. However they're suspiciously similar to humans, and past the weird eye & hair colors they're pretty genetically similar to humans. Some in-universe think humans might be descended from ancient Sky-Blazers or vise versa, which isn't too hard for people to believe given the bizarreness of Eldritchians.

Any other questions or things I need to clear up?

I'm good for now.

Anyone want to brainstorm sub-plots/character arcs/etc. while we wait to get going?

The characters I'll be controlling are mostly there to advance the story and develop the world. Besides that, will anyone be disappearing in the coming days? I intend to start the RP either one or three days from now, and when I start depends on if anyone will be doing something.

I'm not going anywhere. The only brainstorming I have is that I might edit in specific descriptions of the weapons on my guy's mech, so that its capabilities don't seem like deus ex machina.

Lots of alternate history is perfectly fine, and so is adhering to "historical accuracy"... To an extent, this isn't our universe after all so pretty much anything goes. Besides that, I'll be spending today bingeing on anime and playing some of my games. Been rather focused on this for the past few days so yeah.
