Interest Check: Mass Effect(-Inspired) Commando RP

• Race: Quarian

• Squad Role: An offensive support. she prefer to take the front line due to her emphasis on combat than support.
• Skills: incenerate, combat drone, overload, sabotage
• Weapons:Geth Plasma shotgun, geth plasma SMG
• Personality: Good-natured and friendly in a dudebro kind of way and have simple pleasures in life but ultimately she's serious when it comes to the reapers, does not like to talk about her past despite her success.
• Backstory(Edited):
  • Her mom was, and still is, obsessed with human culture due to how diverse and varied it is and one of the things that caught Zay'Roh's eyes was several skate videos, there she was impressed with all the tricks the skater did, doing huge rails and impressive technical skills. When a human merchant was selling a skateboard(it was originally a hoverboard using mass effect fields but considering how a mass effect toothbrush is expensive...), she got her mom to buy it for her. Ever since, Zay'Roh used most of her spare time learning and practising tricks on the board. While some of her peers found it fascinating, the others thought that it was a waste of time and destructive.
  • When she got released for her pilgrimage, she absent-mindedly went for a human colony named Brais to work as a repairman for the ships, the pay is shit, with a stuffy living that she have to grow her own food in her garden in the deep foliage the colony has and her co-workers gave her shit solely for being a Quarian, until the day a talent scout spotted her landing a bluntside to fakie on a 9 set of stairs at the back of the repair shops and invited her to ride for a mostly human mega company called Fried Skateboards. She had the best time of her life partying, getting wasted and shredding some of the gnarliest spots of the universe, and getting paid for it.
  • Then one day, when she became pro for the company in 2 years of time, she decided to celebrate it by doing a tour around Brais. Unfortunately, during that month long stay, the colony was invaded by Batarian slavers and all of the citizens were abducted, including her crew. During all that time, Zay'Roh found refuge in the colony's foliage. When she got out when the batarians left the planet, she felt an immense amount of guilt falling onto her shoulder, she had an emotional breakdown in a middle of an empty street of a now desolate, burning colony. She got onto the crew's ship and think of her next move, eventually deciding to go back to the Flotilla and join the army, using both the ship and all of the money in her bank account to complete her pilgrimage. This is around the time when Mass Effect 1 began.
  • Her officers have commended her for her endurance and ruthlessness of her combat style, as well as her hardened resolve, though they marked her down somewhat for her slightly below average engineering knowledge(well, below average compare to a typical Quarian) but she's still good enough that the officers recommended her for the spec ops squad. Also, she still skates from time to time, just not as frequent as before.

Well, there's nothing outright wrong with the profile, but the overemphasis on skating makes me worry that it might not fit the tone of the RP.

Its just a backstory, dont worry. I wont go tony hawking up the RP by getting Zay'Roh to 360 flip to back smith to hardflip to frontside 270 degree nosebluntslide to fakie on a reaper to destroy it. Its sounds awesome but I'll behave.

Alright, how about I change the backstory. Changed the skater part and then turn Zay'Roh into a delinquent. How does that sound? Might take a while to change, though.

It's more a question of how she was recommended for the special ops force at this point, really. If she was called back to the Migrant Fleet during the recall order that came during the start of the Reaper War, she's been back on the fleet (after ten years of pilgrimage) for a few weeks at best, barely enough to train her, let alone for her to distinguish herself in combat. Especially if her brand of courage is reckless self-endangerment.

Oh shit,yeah, that's a bit of huge time gap. Changing that one, then, among other time problems.

• Personality: Veksan is rather laid back for a krogan, easily able to joke around with others outside combat, however in a fight he maintains a rather icy demeanor in stark contrast to most of his species. Rather than loudly revel in the bloodshed, the only sign that he shows of the famous krogan blood rage is a wide sadistic smirk
• Backstory: Born on Tuchanka, Veksan like many krogans has a long and bloody history behind him. He can give firsthand accounts of the tail end of the Krogan Rebellions, especially the Battle of Canrum, and has fought in most of the major galactic conflicts since then working for whichever side he liked better. He signed on with the Alliance rather quickly after hearing of the invasion of Earth by the Reapers and due to his long experience in conflict was given the rank of Corporal before being assigned to the Menae.

Hm... Veksan's fine, if a little bare-bones. What can you tell me about the Kard clan and their relationship to Urdnot and so on?

Clan Kard

Clan Kard is a rather small Clan. More noted for their production of calmer krogan who went on to become shamans or judges rather than their warriors, the few warriors they did produce seemed to have a much lower fatality rate when given biotic implants. They have long held an uneasy alliance with Clan Urdnot, and with Clan Urdnot's rise to power, Clan Kard has risen far from their origins as a Clan of refugees take in by a warlord into becoming, if not a major power, a power nonetheless in krogan society under the leadership of Kard Duyasko.

When he kills someone, can he be all "Guess your survival wasn't... in the Kards"?
