What was the profit maker on this one, anyway? I'm not into MOBA's (though I love the story on this one, and hope they continue the webcomic), so I don't know how that normally goes. Is it new skins, new characters, new items...?

Optional side currency for skins, easy acquisition of shapers and loadout pages, and other flair like wards and announcers. All of those the average player could do without.
MOBAs end up being money sinks if they're popular enough but until then there's not really a lot of pull for profit. You'd have to have a long term plan and I don't think EA quite understood that the payoff would have had years to come. But I've already had my few hours of mourning, and I won't have them again. Pick up the pieces and find somewhere to go, they won't wait for you when the Dawngate closes.

at about the 2 hour mark they start talking about the Progression Patch
Shaper starts with all three abilities from the get go -Hunter now has vanquish worked into the role- making jungling viable for alot more shapers
Vim is no longer like gold it now turns into a vitality shard every 300 -hence the more rounded prices- which is used for progression of items or stats directly
The Weaver discussion...
Potions are replaced with Surges which would be like spells
They could have at least continued the comic >_<

What this means and what they'll do, I have no idea. But the prospect alone of them being with each other again is a heartwarming one.
There is a community project to bring the game back.
