What's your source for shoes? I own one pair of brand shoes, and I have worn them a grand total of. . . one time. And it wasn't even with a lolita coord. I go the offbrand route for shoes, and I've been successful so far at getting things that are comfortable and coord-able.

I'm going to get them from bodyline. I also have a pair of black shoes that can go well with a gothic/punk coord. I got those from someone else who didn't want them, so I don't know where they're from.

And after getting some money out of seemingly nowhere, I'm going to replace my petticoat soon. My current one isn't very good, so it'll be nice to replace it.

I've only got one petticoat, and I've been wearing it with all of my coords for months. I'm thinking of ordering a new one from Bunny House.

I actually just got my new one from there a few days ago. Its really nice. Good amount of poof, and it feels pretty good (not scratchy in the slightest). I'd definitely recommend it.

And in other news, I'm starting to put together a punk lolita coord. I mostly just need a leather jacket and then I'm going to rip up a pair of tights.

I ended up ordering a black petticoat from Bunny House and a white one from Chiffon Rose. I'm betting the white one will get here first.

Not super big, but Lolitas were featured in a video Sephora produced. I'm happy about it. Nice to see a representation of the subculture that isn't portraying it as weird or making fun of it.

Oh yeah, I saw that video; someone showed it to me at a meet recently!

With regard to petticoats, I've found quite a few decent ones at regular ol' costume stores (the independent ones are more likely than the big-box ones to have them I found). They're nothing really special, but they do their job, and they're not really supposed to show anyway. I hate making things on my own anyway if I can avoid it...

...Although I really shouldn't be saying that, as I do plan on making a gothic lolita dress eventually. It'll have a bunch of red and maybe dark purple highlights in with the usual black, and will probably have a vampire theme - a pattern featuring bats, cathedrals, what have you, the top having a High Collar of Doom, the sleeves being long and flowing and probably made of black velvet. Rather than making the whole skirt part out of the pattern though, I plan on layering it a bit. There will be plain red cloth at the top, then a border of ruffles, then the pattern, then black lace trim at the bottom and some black or red tulle tapering down beneath, as well as some ribbons lining the border and a black lace veil covering the back. I can't wait to start actually making it...
