Maybe because some people associate LN with harem and such.

Slayers was originally a light novel.
Dirty Pair was too, and so was Vampire Hunter D....
Watch SymphogearAm I the only one tired of the phrase 'chuuni?' Not directing this at anyone I just have heard it a lot lately. To me it seems like something bunch of "cool and mature" high school kids came up with. Like "I watch shows for adults not that chuuni bullshit."
I have no problem with harem anime. I liked Little Witch Academia and since it's by the same studio I'm inclined to check it out. It's not like I have anything else to watch aside from Fate/Stay Night and both new Gundam series anyways.
I'm just saying the fact that it is used to denounce something as being immature or childish makes it seem immature and childish to me. That is all.
It seems to be some reaction devised by people who never heard what "escapism" is.

Escapism doesn't have to read like it was written by a tryhard fifteen-year-old. That's what describing a work as 'chuuni' generally indicates.
What's precedent ever done for us?Most of the time I seen it used it towards the content of a work not the quality. You are saying all the stuff people describe as chuuni is only if it is not well written by an adult? That is not the context I see it used in.
Hylarn for example (no offense you are just the most recent use everyone here can see) used it to describe the PV, which gives us no real indication of the quality of the writing for the whole series. Therefore the content must be what is being referred to. Which goes to my statement of the word being used to denote immaturity, but that denouncement contains immaturity itself.

Baccano! (one of the greatest anime ever) is also an LN adaptation

I agree with this.
Most of the time I seen it used it towards the content of a work not the quality. You are saying all the stuff people describe as chuuni is only if it is not well written by an adult? That is not the context I see it used in.
Or, to be more precise, it's chuuni if it's something that's written by anyone in an overly juvenile way. Content is relevant in that it generally involves throwing out a particular set of overused cliches and archetypes in a far-too-earnest manner. Basically, if it reads like Axe Cop without the self-awareness and with a nuclear injection of teenage hormones, it's chuuni.
What's precedent ever done for us?Ok that clears up your meaning a lot more thanks. I still think the term comes from a place of immaturity itself, but if used in the way you just said I may find it a bit more tolerable from now on. Though personally I would rather cliches and the like being used in an overly earnest manner then the "eh it sells/is expected throw it in" that happens with most works. I guess it is the difference between so bad it is good and so bad it is bad for me personally.
Anyway resume fall discussion I guess as I at least am satisfied with the derailment I did.
Somehow I foresee that Trigger will derail the plot in the middle of that series. Probably not, but eh.
if theDevil Survivor 2 anime studio could change the characters and plot until they barely resembled anything from the game, Trigger also has the right to go anime original and derail stuff in their own crazy way
anyways. we DO have Ninja Slayer for something more Trigger-like to look foward to

Is that winter? Or just an unspecified time next yr? Honestly I just want more Inferno Cop.
No... Ino Bato is about chuuni
And I was comparing the earlier information to the PV
An unspecified time next year
Certainly looks like it. No idea when it'll be coming out, though
Wow, this is amazing! I thought that Vivid was never going to get animated! Awesomesauce...!
And more Dog Days, finally! Stop it...the awesome news is tearing me to pieces!
From the looks of things, it's gonna be called Dog Days Double Dash. Looks like racing became a part of the festivities.
it's a fuckin' LN adaptation. if you informed yourself s little you would have already been expecting it to be a generic harem.
