New trailer on the 8th! Seems like they're finally beginning to step up the advertising.

Looking for some stories?I wonder if the director looked at my tumblr post for ideas on music for the trailer. I think I remember him liking my post. Just want a thematic and serious trailer to match with the mood of the film.
I'm pretty sure the marketing aspect is handled by people separate from the actual production, but I could be wrong. Either way, I'm excited to see what we're getting next.
Looking for some stories? We're finally going to get a look at our villain, it seems. There's a difference between "villain" and "antagonist," you know. So far, IMO, we've only had antagonists.
Looking for some stories?... there's no image or video on that link.
That's because it's coming on Friday. I just found that tidbit a little interesting, considering that we've heard and seen nothing of the bandits so far.
Looking for some stories? And you guys thought Xibalba would be the villain.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatOnce I read more about his motivations, I guessed that he'd end up not being as bad as he appeared.
Looking for some stories?I've been hearing about the leader of bandits sometime in this thread, though now we're getting a clearer look. I'm so excited. Also love that new photo Facebook did of the three higher-ups.
I'm torn between wanting that dress and wanting to take a fire extinguisher to the hem.
Looking for some stories? The Candlemaker's reaction pretty much sums up my own.
Looking for some stories?... she's a princess?
Really?
I think the narrator was probably speaking figuratively, since he follows up on it by referring to the male leads as "not your typical Prince Charmings".
No, I don't think so. They're trying to present it as a Fractured Fairy Tale, which is probably misrepresenting the film somewhat.
Looking for some stories? But they still put it in there because they probably thought it would draw more audiences in. Because everyone thinks animated films should have princesses in it.
Technically, I think that in a grammatical sense you could take the line "She's not your typical princess" to mean that she isn't a princess at all. So it's not really a lie.

...I think the first trailer was better.
Yeah there's something about the trailer narrator I just don't like. Maybe it makes the film look more conventional than I wish it is?
Agreed. I like the new footage we got from this trailer, but it makes the movie look sillier than it's going to be.
Looking for some stories? And isn't it just too ironic that in today's animation environment, the trailer that insists "This is NOT your average princess! This is NOT your average Prince Charming! This is NOT your ordinary fairy tale!" actually makes the film seem way more conventional than the trailer that just presents it matter-of-factly as a fairy tale?
Be careful Mort. Remember Brave.
*complaints about silliness*
Never mind that a good chunk of the artstyle lends itself to silly expressions, AND that a good chunk of El Tigre was silliness mixed in with action.

Since it's a posada reference, that makes me giddy.
