Disney XD's newest series that is loosely based on(obviously) Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs. The series is set in the whimsical land of Jollywood, where the queen relies on Doc, Grumpy, And All The Rest to keep the kingdom in check. We also have descriptions on the villains, Grim and Hildy. Jay Leno and Whoopi Goldberg are also staring in this. Should be interesting, considering this looks an awful lot like another Disney hit series...

Seems good. Don't have much to say about it other than it being pretty cool that some Animaniacs alums (like Tom Ruegger and Sherri Stoner) are apparently working on it.

I was turned off a bit when I realized they were supposed to be the Seven Dwarfs. I may have to give it a shot when it starts, then.

Pretty much all the best writers from Animaniacs are on this! That sold me. I originally thought it wouldn't be so irreverent because it looked to me like it was aimed at pre-schoolers! Guess I was wrong.

[up] Originally, it was aimed at preschoolers, but at some point or another, they decided to re-tool it into an all-ages show.

Once I heard Paul Rugg was heading it, I knew something was up. He'd work on a straight, no-nonsense preschool cartoon??? Doesn't seem like his line of work.

Yet he somehow fucked up Pac Man And The Ghostly Adventures. Guess he just didn't play many video games. Anywho, back on topic: What do you think of the character designs? A lil' too close to Gravity Falls territory or well enough?

BTW, this is probably Disney's first animated series featuring a Disney movie classic since Lilo & Stitch the series, or Emperor's new school.

I'm kind of worried but the gloom villains make me want to give it a chance.

Probably Noah's better character designs.

Finally got around to seeing the final product and my opinion stands: Mixed feelings.

The voice cast is distracting. Grumpy's played Maurice Lemarch doing a voice similar to Micheal Douglas(and probably my still favorite of the dwarves), Doc sounds like Jiminy Cricket instead of Roy Atwel's perfect touch from the original, then... Kevin Micheal Richardson as HAPPY. What?

I prefer Hildy by herself as a villain, good villain song, decent animation. Just- Confused.

I agree, the designs do look reminiscent of Gravity Falls but they're better than the earlier designs: http://www.cartoonbrew.com/disney/disney-redesigns-the-seven-dwarfs-for-7d-64953.html

Putting the show on Disney XD might have been a better solution than Disney Junior(even though it's getting its run along with Disney channel later on). Though I'm not sure.

What I am surprised by is one of the names on the staff: Tom Warburton as producer. The Kids Next Door guy. So maybe he'll give this series a overhaul along with animaniacs Tom Reuger sometime along its run since they're really working with a bad concept that needs saving. Especially that title. I wonder if this is due to Disney snatching as many ex cartoon network alumni as they can for their shows.

It makes me cringe that the "7D" is not just the title of the show but something the characters say in show. Like I'm watching the 90s or 80s again.

Where credit is due, the second episode gave me a better impression than the first. Though the adorably cute spider might have just won over me.

If you keep comparing this to the original Disney movie, you're watching it wrong. These can be considered totally different characters.

Watched the first episode (or rather two 11 minute episodes) on iTunes. It was OK. Most of the jokes at least made me smile. One thing I admire is that the ruler of the land is a Queen and not a Princess.

Without saying much - way better than Kick Buttowski ever was, right out of the starting gate (then again, that's easy to pull off!). Not as good as Gravity Falls or Wander Over Yonder, just yet anyway, but definitely one more cartoon for me to pay attention to, IMHO.

Here's hoping this stellar crew working on it goes places with it, that's for sure!

Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.

Ok, after watching ep 1 online, I feel a little mixed about this one too. The humor is very elementary, along with dialouge, but the animation is just charming enough to get kids and adults to stay. I swear, I thought Grim and Hildy were brother and sister. I can only imagine the R34 that comes out for these two.

Also, I will never get pass the fact Brian from "American Dad" is voicing a family styled character. The best part about it all was Hildy's spider song IMHO. Let's hope this doesn't end up getting shafted for more crap or go through the Pac-Man & TGA syndrome of blandness.

It's not that I'm expecting the same universe as the same movie, just... Don't know what this show is offering me but the second episode gave me a better impression than the first.

I thought it was cute; it's obviously aimed towards the younger set, but I thought it was charming enough for me to keep watching and I never felt like it talked down to me or anything.
