...Okay? I don't really see why that means they couldn't have found a way to do it. There are surveillance videos and journals, it doesn't have to be a flashback-flashback. And I wasn't suggesting she join your squad on Ilium— that's why I said mission control.

I hope that one day that someone will make an Enhanced Edition of Mass Effect and give more romance options.

You gotta start somewhere.

Speaking of romance options, I'm playing through the first game again, and I had forgotten just how terrible the dialogue wheel was at conveying romantic interest or lack thereof. I've tried to be as clear as possible about shooting down Kaidan and encouraging Liara, and I'm currently unsure who, if anyone, Shepard is actually romancing. Actually, I've locked myself into the hidden Wrex-mance somehow.

My biggest regret of ME 3 now - I missed Aetheyta before the Cerberus coup and now she's disappeared. Like Barla Von.

I hate that. She's really hard to notice as well. Unles syou realise that the map shows people on it who are key to talk to.

Another case of very useful game mechanics the game doesn't tell you about. It took me a year to learn you could holster your weapon in the second game.

It's nice that she's happy, but that does not face Samara maketh.

I've actually met her in person, she's very cheery. It's uncanny, seeing as how that's the complete opposite of Samara.

As for [up] - the dialogue alon would be akin to Lethal Weapon.

G-Frigging-G BioWare

Welp, that's it. Mass Effect is dead to me. This franchise had a good run, but holy fuckballs. This game looks terrible, and from what I've seen, the plot is as bad as the game looks.

Also: TWENTY-FOUR PERCENT PRICE DROP before the release week was even up. Holy. Shit.

Mass Effect: Andromeda isn't a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. Honestly, I'd say it's pretty much what I want from an ME:A game. However, the fact it never gives any conclusive answers about what happened to the Milky Way galaxy is bothersome.

[up] ...Honestly what did you expect? It never was going to. The entire point of Andromeda at all was to A) avoid the can of worms that the audience feels about the endings and B) avoid how difficult it would be to create a sequel with any of those endings. We likely will never get anything from the original trilogy past those endings to keep player choice and just generally avoid the train wreck.

[up] What's interesting is how many people are saying its final mission blows ME 2's out of the water.

And some outlets who gave scathing reviews now pushing out opinion pieces saying how it is comparable in scope to ME 1 and really grows on you as you play through.

Honestly, seeing the criticisms on animation / voice skips and triggers, I have seen other games do exactly the same - Witcher 3 had people commenting about burning down the Witch Hunters HQ as SOON AS I GOT TO NOVIGRAD. Horizon ZD has quest givers asking about people and telling me to go get them as a conversation option after I turn the quest back in!

They are still amazing games. And I have to say, Andromeda is brill. But I will agree that the human character models need a LOT of work. Addison mainly. Work as in "Needs to be shot".

I am enjoying all the additional codex lore too. Plus the suggestive elements about the Milky Way - read the Heleus News Network terminal near the Tempest They talk about "Beacons that have alerted the Milky Way to their arrival have still gone unanswered. So there's something touched on at least....

[up] The Milky Way is some 600 years away using FTL. No fucking shit the beacons have gone unanswered.

Probably not. The game brings up the issue that their data on the Andromeda Galaxy would be millions of years out of date (want to say 2.7 something million years?) by the time they got there. They explained this as the Geth had created a FTL Telescope that allowed them to view the Andromeda Galaxy at a significantly better time range than before. The Geth had created them to view Dark Space and no one knows why, but the Player would and that's actually a pretty clever explanation. It stands to reason that, if they can see as far as Andromeda within current time or at least within a reasonable time period, they could potentially send communication back.

As for why the beacons have gone unanswered, either the beacons back in the Milkey Way were destroyed in someway, everyone has forgotten about the Andromeda Inititive, or the worst ending of Mass Effect 3 occured and there is simply no one to answer the call. Logically speaking, the so-called "Golden Ending" of Synthesis would logically result in someone answering so I feel safe in saying that that ending did not happen if they're going to pick a canon.

@Black Sun: Its the best game in ME series though so far [lol]

Fight me tongue

(seriously though, it has tons of potential, let's see whether Bioware capitalizes on that. And its really only ME game that works as standalone, even the ME 1 had that "Omg this is first part of trilogy just beginning to something greatness, our choices are gonna affect later games!" thing)

[up] Agree - it's a great entry in the franchise. And it works. It's what ME 1 wanted to deliver on in some ways as well.

Plus the combat just WORKS so well.
