Zakarpattia Oblast is in the demands for parts of the Hungarian far-right in case Ukraine is occupied/taken out by Russia.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"As if they actually have the guts to try.
Another right-wing guy, Claudiu Târziu, made calls to grab Northen Bukovina, Southern Bessarabia, Hertsa region and Transcarpathia on January 24.
He's from the Alliance for the Union of Romanians.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"A BIG political controversy is currently happening in Hungary after it came out that a presidential pardon was granted to a pedophile's accomplice.
Which required the pardon to pass through the desks of the minister of justice (currently on the top of Fidesz' EP election list) and the prime minister (Orbán), with no one in the chain objecting.
The entire opposition is unanimously calling for the president's immediate dismissal as unfit for her position, protests are being organized and so far Fidesz is alternating between "no comment" and "the left is in no position to criticize us on anything".
A constitutional lawyer has confirmed for the independent media that presidential pardons cannot be appealed, cancelled or corrected after the fact, nor can the president be required to explain themselves. So this is a point of no return for her political career, one way or another.

What's the fig leaf/justification for the pardon?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWhen asked, Katalin Novák refused to give a direct answer as to why, saying that clemency discussions are legally private, and she can't divulge more details at the moment.
She also said:
(......)
It is therefore natural that every decision on clemency raises questions and, in some cases, these questions remain unanswered, as has been the case for the past 33 years and as is the case in most countries of the world.
(......)
I have compassion for all victims of paedophilia, and if anyone – whether from the government or the opposition – really wants to take a meaningful stand against paedophilia and the perpetrators of paedophile crimes, I am ready to work with them now and will do so in the future

...........
This remind me of a case that happened in Morocco a couple of years ago, though the person pardoned was a Spanish citizen, and the case was hushed up quickly.

Every Hero has his own way of eating yogurtSituation update:
- Many of Novák's advisors ditched her and at least one big-name political analyst declared her political career over.
- According to an internal source, Novák's staff tried to talk her way out with Orbán, but he rejected their excuses.
- Orbán himself publicly condemned the incident as "never should've happened".
- The minister of justice is still refusing to comment.
- Fidesz are in damage control mode: carefully condemning the situation and doing a phone poll to gauge the level of public outrage.

Interesting tank the Ukrainians knocked out.
Appears that the T-54 taken out was the same one used by Soviet troops in Hungary.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"Breaking news: the president has resigned.
Update: so has the minister of justice!

Huh. Well, screw 'em both, I guess. I assume this will trigger elections?
Parliament will elect a new president in 30 days. Until then, the position is temporarily filled by the Speaker.
The position used to be directly elected by the people, but Fidesz changed it after they came to power to ensure uncontested legislative control.
For Estonia, Estonian PM Kaja Kallas is considered "wanted" by Russian law enforcement. Appears to be due to taking down most Soviet statues in Estonia.
Typical authoritarian insecurity.

Disgusted, but not surprisedShe should mail the head of one of those statues to Putin.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Arrange to have it put in his bed
Instructions unclear, old Italian horse breeder woke up with a statue head on his bed today.
Inter arma enim silent legesI see what you did there.
I despise hypocrisy, unless of course it is my own.Alexei Navalny, Russia's main opposition figure, is dead.
Navalny is just the latest in a long line of people killed by the Kremlin for opposing Putin's mafia state.

Belarusian special forces units are being deployed to the Belarusian-Ukrainian land border for a "Counter-terrorist" operation.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"Not sure Radio Moldova has been linked before on anything Moldova-related before but I figured this was worth sharing. Moldova: Transnistria May Seek Annexation by Russia
Summary:
1. Transnistria wishes to be a part of the Russian Federation by the end of this month.
2. One Vadim Vieru, program director at the Promo-LEX Association, however, warned this is all propaganda for Transnistria with Watchdog expert Andrei Curăraru claiming this is to get Transnistrians to vote in the upcoming presidential elections in Russia and to force Ukraine to monitor its border with Moldova/Transnistria.
EDIT - Updating this thread with this: Emmanuel Macron Announces Plans for Permanent Defense Mission in Moldova
Summary:
1. This defense mission follows a signing of a cooperation agreement between France and Moldova's respective defense ministers.
2. This defense mission is to strengthen Moldova's military capabilities with French assistance.

Ilze Liepa, a Russian-Lithuanian actress and ballet dancer, got her Lithuanian nationality removed. She's known to really support Putin's special military operation.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"I don't see Russia annexing Transnistria at this moment, tbh. They already refused South Ossetia, and it could potentially open up a second front of the war that neither side can really afford right now.

According to Orban, he said Trump told him that he won't help Ukraine financially when he gets back to the WH.

Watching the DW documentary on China's growing presence in Serbia. Mentions the Bors mine being worked on by Chinese laborers brought over. Also mentioned the EU debacle for them to help give them vaccines that they have to turn to China. Also a brief mention of Chinese missiles provided to Serbia.
As usual, the pro-China bots are in the comments.
