I just added the most recent list of suggestions—though it seems like Late to the Realization is the only name on the long list that's getting any real support anyway.

For future reference, if you come up with more suggestions, you can add them to the crowner yourself. (Someone else already did that with Comes The Dawn.)

One more bump. Seems like Late to the Realization is running away with this one.

Still no sign of any changes in the results. Can we call the crowner now?

Do we have to wait for 15 total votes or something? This crowner hasn't really changed in a couple weeks now and seems to show a clear consensus.

Rename is done. Anything else to do?

Removed the Trope Namer tagging from the Family Guy example.

I don't suppose we could massage the definition so that the person who's late to the realization doesn't have to be the main character...?

I should clarify a little: the trope, as far as I can tell, isn't seeing a lot of misuse (in fact, it seems a bit underused, probably because of the old name). What I'm asking is, is there a point to limiting this trope to a main character?

The description suggests that the main character/other character dynamic is important, so there is that.

[up][up] I can see why a guest character (someone who appears infrequently, but is narratively important) or another supporting character could count. Keep in mind that the majority of episodes in Family Guy are about Peter, the the titular character. Lois gets the revelation from Stewie, who counts as the villain in this context. So this is a Supporting Character who finally deduces it, and that is already treated as an example of this trope.

I don't see how "random extra #28" could count, though.

Tweaking it so that "Main Character" doesn't mean only "protagonist" is the only change I would suggest. Let it mean anyone who counts as an important character (even Mauve Shirt ones).

Can we agree on changing the definition, or just letting this thread die?

"Important character" seems like a justifiable tweak to me. Secondary characters often have significant story arcs.

I've applied the tweak, and since this was the last issue, I'll request closure.
