How often do you remove examples that don't fit?

I mostly read, and occasionally fix spelling errors in edits. I notice (all the time) trope examples that don't belong on a page, but I feel uncertain about removing them myself, like I am stepping on somebody's toes.

Here's an example from Mind Over Matter (a telekinesis trope):

Firefly: River Tam hints at this, telling Jayne that she can kill him with her brain. We're not sure she's not just messing with his head.

If you've watched Firefly, you KNOW River has no telekinetic power, and she is not hinting at this, either. She has superior human intelligence and precognition, and this is how her "brain" would kill someone.

I am wondering how you guys go about removing other people's work? You just do it and make sure you're right? I am overly cautious I guess.

Courtesy links: Mind over Matter and Firefly. This would probably be better in Wiki Talk since it's not about the trope pages but the site it's self. In answer to the question, if you're sure you understand the work and trope page you can delete the example with a reason explaining how it doesn't fit. I'm not sure this one should be removed though.

A better place would be the "Is this an example?" thread. For the record, that seems like it's a blatant lie and so is not an example.

For the more general question, see Repair Dont Respond.
