To summarize the manga in one panel: these are some amazingly rendered traditional clothes, and this is one gallant-looking young lady. Otoyomegatari is a story set in XIX-th century Central Asia, about the strange and unusual customs regarding marriage and romance and family, presented in a sympathetic, humanizing way, and centred on strong, sympathetic characters. Also, that's her 12-year-old husband down there. The reasons why it ended like this are complicated, and those circumstances result in a rather interesting plot.

@Latest chapter... XIX-th century Persians are really friggin' weird. Who goes and makes a "Romantic" Two-Girl Friendship into such a huge deal that it involves a public oath for life, and a ceremony officiated by an older lady, with snacks?!

It's not actually that unusual a thing.

That said, there's something really distracting about the anatomy in some of these pictures.
