I think Gorn is often so overdone, that it makes the viewer numb and it loses all meaning.

On an unrelated note, I wish I could change my forum profile pic but at the time I didn't know what to look for when it comes to small 100X100 sized images so I got something completely random and don't even know what it's from. :p

Yeah, Elfen Lied was the most extreme gorn I've ever seen though at least for anime, and not even involving a main character like Guts from Berserk that would be a lot more expected. XD
I was exposed to f'ing Mortal Kombat at a young age though. XD
I think I remember one of the fatalities was Sub-Zero ripping someone's spine out. o.O And that Acid ninja dude, forgot his name, Reptile or something? I think he can eat people. D:

I think that mental trauma is usually much better done in media than physical trauma.
Especially since Nothing Is Scarier.

Basically, does brutally murdered people count as your worst fear, or seeing someone get corrupted into an awful Face–Heel Turn in darker works, including non-canonical but frightening bad endings?
As a Reformer (1), I find corruption to be the scariest, but gorn can be plenty scary too. :O Especially if a work in question has a combination of the two. o.O
It's funny you know, sometimes I actually love horror like Silent Hill or Yume Nikki, and I feel both horrified yet awestruck by how much crap Nintendo can get away with from the most f'ed up things like Giygas and Zero. XD Yep, and it's for children. :p
Anyways, these things in question were certainly not too scary to WATCH at least but some were, like Corpse Party. o.O Oh god, why did I watch that? D:
