Going by serial escalation, I'm going to assume there will be Gen 4+ monster available in the main game.
Maybe in a Sevii Island-esque area, or through some of the convoluted extra content HG/SS had.
& I did not realize that until just now. I'm still not partial to the design, but now I know.
And Knowing Is Half the Battle

There's a General Pokemon thread, you know.
But yeah, don't worry about it. I'm just jaded by entirely too many online discussions about games for children.
... quick, I need a way to make this on-topic! UHM.
Some more variety would be nice, particularly for a better Ground-type before Wattson's gym, but I found the variety in XY entirely too paralyzingly overwhelming and I could already fill more than one team with mons I'd like to train in the standard RSE-dex alone, so I hope they don't exaggerate it.
I hope they put Sandile and Shellos before Wattson. Maybe Tympole and Wooper, too. Just some Ground and Water options to tide players over until Surf or the fishing rod arrives. If the Old Rod works like in XY, variety won't be as much of a problem. It was always annoying how a whole key item was devoted to finding Magikarp.
"There is no story. It's all drugs."I would be completely fine with them adding Ground types before Wattson. Geodude is the only one that you could have by then, so Wattson usually gives me trouble when I'm using Treecko, and sometimes Torchic.
To be fair, in Gen III the Old Rod was a rough split between Magikarp, and a common water type found in that area.
Ocean water would give Tentacool, stream water would give Goldeen, Sootopolis city would give nothing but Magikarp, but the levels of Magikarp you could catch were much higher than anywhere else you could get them.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.edited 23rd Jul '14 5:58:17 PM by BagofMagicFood
People would probably complain that it looks like Kyubimon.
Nah, I don't like that design. Too much junk around the neck, not enough being a freaking wizard.

I couldn't conceive a dream so wet; your bongos make me congo.Ya gotta put on all yer life preservers so ya don't drown.
Of course, since it's a fire type if it's in the water it's already screwed anyway, so...
I couldn't conceive a dream so wet; your bongos make me congo. Not a fan of that design, either. It's... obvious, which does little to make it interesting. Evidently an unexpected turn in its evolution irritates some people, but I'd much rather have a big-eared fox inexplicably turn into a wizard fox than just have a fox that is also Psychic because it's a mystical fox and that's that.
Now that I think about it, that's probably the main thing that bothers me about a lot of Pokemon Sage designs. Lots of mons that are just "animal with special property X" rather than showing an escalating progression of two combined dissimilar design aspects that make a surprising amount of sense together. I mean, "animal with special property X" is also a combination, but... hmmm. I'll have to think about what makes these different. That's actually interesting. I think the progression is probably a big part of it. When the two elements are already combined to the utmost degree in the first stage and further stages are just "that but bigger", it's not very satisfying.
I hope any Mega-Evolutions they introduce in these games (SEE, THIS POST IS ON-TOPIC!) keep that in mind. There aren't a lot of Megas so far that don't just add big mean stuff to the existing mon. Kangaskhan, Ampharos... and I guess the bugs, too, all show an actual progression of the concept rather than just a progression in strength.
More variety in Pokemon would be good. I'm hoping they'll have some nice fire types available. If I recall correctly there weren't a lot of fire types to choose from in R/S (E too?) if you didn't pick Torchic as your starter.
There is pretty much just the Camperupt line + Torkoal , both avaiable past Gym 3.
Slugma and Vulpix are also available.
Nevertheless, Fire types are nearly as rare in Hoenn as they are in Sinnoh. Everyone remember how Flint had to be an all-rounder since the fully evolved Fire list literally was just Infernape, a starter Pokemon that thus had very limited availability, and Rapidash?
I sure said that!@Fawriel: my sincere apologies for annoying you.
@Everyone complaining about the Kyubimon-Fennekin design: How about this then?◊ Still a motherfucking sorcerer, still got the ear hair, still standing, doesn't appear to be wearing a dress and somehow gives the impression that I can't get rid of it by turning my garden hose on it.
And yes, more Ground and Fire Types in Hoenn, please. Oh, hello Primal Groudon!

pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDSAt the very least, I'm expecting a healthy number of the current Mega Evolving Pokemon to be introduced.
I sure said that!If nothing else, I expect those Johto mons from the extra Safari Zone area in Emerald to appear, either there or throughout the region.
So I may have missed it but is there any word on how Primal Reversion works? Is it only for the Legendaries or might we see a Primal Primeape?

Just because Pokemon from later generations were barred from the main game doesn't mean FRLG doesn't count.
