I'm really interested in the tone myself. Like, will they go with the really kiddy tone the show is (in)famous for (never saying "dead," high schools that seem more like elementary schools, etc.) or will they make it more adult and market it to nostalgic twenty-somethings that grew up with the original? IMO the latter done badly would probably be worse than the former but who knows.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Nostalgia's probably their best bet. I honestly can't think of any other reason for the movie to even exist.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.They haven't even talked about the expected rating they are going for. Fans and actors from the series have said they think it would be a gold mine to have a low PG-13 movie to appeal to the grown up fans.
Best bet would be that it's PG-13 on the violence alone. It won't be anything like the satire/not-satire Power|Rangers thing with Van Der Beek and Katie Sackoff, which is a good thing, while I enjoyed it, it wouldn't have felt like Power Rangers as a feature film.
(V)(;,,;)(V)I expect something similar to Kamen Rider in tone then in normal Super Sentai or Power Rangers.
Maybe with Deadpool being a success, combined with the possible success of this movie, I can see a western Garo movie being made that's a Hard R.

Watch SymphogearI prefer the Dinsey era myself. Among other things, the acting was more conistant and they actually went through the effort and cost to hire more experienced actors, which helped a lot.
I'm thinking this movie's going to bank on Nostalgia with PG 13 violence.
"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"I'm pretty sure they're going for a Marvel-esque tone.
So a bit Darker and Edgier than usual but they're not gonna turn this into Watchmen or even the DC Murderverse.
I hope they don't turn it into Fant4stic...
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."More likely to end up like Transformers or Ninja Turtles.
Latest Turtle film actually looks good.
I'm sold because holy shit, that looks amazing.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Now I want to see Zedd.
Non Indicative UsernameZedd needs to be Nightmare Fuel.
This asshole's exposed brain and muscles were horrific as a kid and did a fantastic job of selling the idea that he's the scariest thing since horror was invented. He didn't even need to say or do anything. Just looking at him was terrifying.
Which is good because most of the time when he said or did anything, it was Nightmare Retardant.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I have no strong opinions either way.
Lord Zedd did a fine job of being scary even when speaking. It's when Rita came back he became cheesy. But he also became significantly more effective and deadly.
Also, this is looking quite awesome so far.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol. That's a lot of green. Does explain why the evil ranger she makes is the Green Ranger though, seems to be her favorite color!

(V)(;,,;)(V)Elizabeth Banks looks more like a Mortal Kombat character than Rita, but I guess since this is a big reinvention it isn't that big of a deal.
She's less corny looking, I suppose. Although I prefer the black/purple color scheme than Poison Ivy reject.
Non Indicative UsernameSome degree of reinvention is more or less mandatory due to the fact that they actually appear to be putting some effort into this. Rita looked the way she did because she's the evil Witch Bandora from Super Sentai; the sinister servant of Great Satan who killed the dinosaurs, but was opposed by the descendants of an ancient human civilization that evolved from dinosaurs and invoked their powers to fight her.
As this film probably isn't going to be comprised 70% of redubbed Super Sentai scenes, expect a lot of changes.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I'm not objecting the the design, per se. I just wish it was black with purple/dark green highlight.
Non Indicative UsernameI have a hunch they were trying to make her look reminiscent of Loki, but then I have to ask why didn't they give her a goofy hat. Tom Hiddleston could sell his goofy hat, and it's not Rita without a goofy hat!
She doesn't feel like a witch with that design. That's my issue with it. Of course, the story might change her profession, so it could work fine.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.I wish that the cleavage cut in the middle wasn't so low (she's already sexy enough costume people, no need for that). BUT, it's an interesting design nonetheless (I hadn't thought of the Tommy connection, but that's an interesting possibility).
I'm curious to see/hear what kind of voice she uses?
Power Rangers vary in cheesiness. MMPR is pure camp, Time Force is dramatic, RPM combines drama and PG Deadpool.
