I think that the Wikipedia articles for these Congressmen will need some protection.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"http://boingboing.net/2015/06/02/fifa-sepp-blatter-resigns.html
Probably could have used a better source but Yeah.....Sepp Blatter is gone....
and John is celebrating accordingly

That... is so ridiculously funny.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"John's list of enemies is getting long, the prince of Thailand, a former FIFA exec, the president of Ecuador and probably more. And those are just the ones that hit back, I'm petty sure Big Tobacco and a bunch of other big cooperate interest groups are also unhappy with him.
This weeks story Online Harras-NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP!!!
Hoo boy. I have a bad feeling about the potential Internet Backdraft resulting from this episode.
Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation. It's not like he hasn't courted backlash from other videos. This just adds the faceless legions of the Internet trolls to the list of his enemies.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"True, but considering that one of this show's big achievements was inciting said faceless legions to crash the FCC's website, it makes me wonder what might happen if even a fraction of it was turned against him, especially given the subject matter at hand.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.True but the fact that he did it makes it clear that he is showing issues and not just playing for the mob when it comes to the internet masses.
Let them rage, let them be furious. I'd rather have it addressed than be cowed because of the consequences.
John Oliver has made fun out of everyone so far, even his parent company. If he'd done any less here it would have only emboldened the crowd of assholes.

"You can reply to this Message!"Indeed. The surest way to lose to terrorism is to let fear of it control your expression. In a way, there are strong analogues between asymmetric warfare in the physical world and on the Internet; they both work because they have the advantages of anonymity and the ability to blend into the crowd.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"And given such amusing topics as "Women earn less than men and thats fucked up" I doubt the crowd he gave hell with this show were his fanbase anyway.
"You can reply to this Message!"It is rather astonishing how much misogyny lives on the Internet. It seems that it was not really excised from our society but rather driven underground, and has found a natural haven online where people can be protected by anonymity.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Hey, its the internet. Its not a haven for misogyny its one for general douchebaggery
Greater Internet Fuckward Theory and all.
"You can reply to this Message!"While true, that statement misses the point that a lot of the dickery on the 'net is directed specifically at certain targets. Like terrorism, it can get lost in the general noise of the society, but emerges to attack targets of opportunity.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"True.
"You can reply to this Message!"I'm curious though, is that high a percentage of internet harassment aimed at women compared to non-net harassment? Is it that the internet is horrible to women or that our culture is horrible to women and that the internet is just the latest avenue our culture uses to do that?
In the end these assholes aren't creations of the internet, they don't spring fully formed from message boards, someone raised these people, someone taught them, someone is friends with them. The internet is didn't teach these people to be like that, society did.
This weeks main story....and a bit of a bonus.....
EDIT: And Now.....This....

Somehow, the leap-second video got its concepts confused. If 11:58 turns to 12:00, then we are losing a second, not gaining one.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Huh? It goes:
23:59:59
23:59:60
00:00:00
Or, if you prefer:
11:59:59
11:59:60
12:00:00

Ceterum censeo Morbillivirum esse eradicandum.Ah, okay. So we are gaining a second, not losing one. The video didn't make it clear.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
