I have the following scenario: The protagonist of the story, now in dire straits and about to die/commit suicide, is saved at the last minute by a deity or deistically powerful character. This intervener gives the protagonist huge amounts of power as soon as he gets there, which sets up the whole story. Is there a trope that matches this description?
