"Urgh....."
Solhildr clutched her head as she looked on at the scene in confusion.
"Next time let us not run into danger so hastily."
She got one knee and held her shield up. Twin rays of sunlight shone down on both herself and Melqarth, healing them and purging any sickness they may have contracted.
GIVE ME YOUR FACEDiving down towards the ground after she had felled the last of the ambushers, Roxane shook her head disdainfully and tutted. "Is this all that this island can do? Really? I was expecting a challenge, or at least someone with powers sent by that Pyr guy. Not ... this."
Her critical assessment of the island's dangers done, Roxane asked Ishaq, "So, do you think we should continue the race, or find the others? Maybe they weren't as prepared as us, or something?"
If you're reading this you have 5 seconds to...Several of the crossbowmen yet lived, clutching at axe-wounds on the ground and groaning. Solhildr was able to mend the worst of Melqarth's injuries as well as her own, but the sick feeling within them stubbornly remained. Ishaq hardly felt better - the cold numbness in his shoulder was getting worse.
Flesh is a design flaw.Solhildr decided to put the sickly feeling in the back of her mind. There were more important things at hand.
"Wood Elf" she said addressing Chereen. "It seems the Jackalman and I have come under some sort of affliction. Once we can find some reprieve It would be prudent for you to tap into that knowledge of herbs and vegetation in which I can observe you have in order to find some sort cure for this ailment...."
She helped Melqarth up and supported him on her shoulder.
"Until then we shall see what kind of mess the idiot has gotten himself into." It was clear she was referring to Buliwyf.
GIVE ME YOUR FACE"I'll do what I can," the elf replied.
Trump delenda estMelqarth staggered up, feeling as ill as he was he breathed a little bit.
"A cure for this... sick feeling would be good."
He rested a palm across his eyes for a moment. "I was worried that these ruins felt too quiet..."
Then he looked towards the temple, uncovering his eyes. "Though I had hoped they'd only be bandits. Rather than- whatever that bloated monstrosity was."
1.5 imperial gallons of tea were consumed during the writing of this post"So, do you two want me to try healing you now or do you want to go on to the temple first. There might be something there that can help. Do you even think you can make it under your own power?"

Trump delenda estZak-thaael dismisses the fragmented spirit she called up with a wave of her hand, then continues walking at a leisurely pace to the Temple.
"You can run the race if you want, but if there's more of these guys around, it might be better to group together and barrel through them," Ishaq said. "I got a feeling we're all going to be best friends, if these guys are just charging at us. But for now, I'm gonna have a conversation."
He bent over and grabbed one of the still-breathing attackers by the neck with his left hand, giving it a firm and possibly painful squeeze, but took care not to squish their foe. "Hey! Wake up!" he said as he shook the attacker. "What was the deal with that? Who are you guys? Why did you just up-and-attack us?"
Xyka, who was crouching, eyed the others. He heard the words of Shaq and nodded. "Stay together, live. Split up, die." He continued, "no foolishness. Birdman must not race again. No animosity."
grup we pleaseThe stench of the man offended Ishaq's nasal passages, and his colorless face was covered in boils. Ishaq realized with some revulsion why the leather cloak the man wore was so pale - it was human skin. He offered a strange reply,
"You have intruded on Parlat's domain. Your purity offended him," the man gave a gurgling chuckle, looking at the bolt in Ishaq's right arm, "but I see his blessing is within you now. You will make a fine offering upon the... haha... altar."
A wet cackle issued forth from the crossbowman as he expired from his wounds.

Flesh is a design flaw."What? I thought I got rid of this thing," Ishaq said, chucking the body far away. He reached his left hand to the bolt, and pulled it out again with a painful grunt. "Uh yeah... sure, right," he agreed with Xyka. "Ishaq agree, make friend, good terms with Lizardman."
"Hey, anyone got some aloe?" he asked around loudly. "I would really appreciate some, this hurts like you wouldn't believe."
Chereen heard Shaq and said, "If you don't need my services immediately, someone else does."
Trump delenda estDeciding that going it alone would probably be a bad idea, and the lizardman who seemed to have trouble speaking, which made him even scarier, Roxane hung around, and didn't continue the race, instead giving her verdict on the crossbowman's words.
"So this Parlat guy doesn't like purity, and can stick around here without us knowing to give blessings to people so they can be sacrificed? Weirdo. Or the dead guy's crazy. And, now that we're all together, should we camp here, or interrogate more of these things or go to the Olympian temple where the altar probably is?"
If you're reading this you have 5 seconds to...Chereen went over to Shaq, rubbed some herbs into the would while crushing some oothers into his hand and doing a healing chant.
Trump delenda estSeeing as the battle was done, Buliwyf sheated both of his weapons and went about making sure that all of his foes were actually dead. With his seax out, Buliwyf went about nudging the bodies around him with his foot to see who was dead and those who still clung to life. When he came across a fallen foe who still lived, Buliwyf would kneel next to them, congratulate them on fighting so vigorously despite fighting much more powerful opponents and put them out of their misery as painlessly as he could.
The wound in Ishaq's arm closed quickly and stopped bleeding, though Chereen saw it was black with infection. His herbs would have no further effect, and the avian's arm was still uncomfortably numb.
Flesh is a design flaw."I'd say we head to the Temple."
GIVE ME YOUR FACEMelqarth nodded in agreement.
"I may be able to make it there under my own strength... But there is no harm in trying to at least alleviate some of the nausea... It'd be rather distracting during a fight."
Melqarth tried to wash away some of the gore that had gotten onto him using water that he summoned up.
1.5 imperial gallons of tea were consumed during the writing of this post"Oh, well thanks, that's better," Ishaq said to Chareen, popping the right arm of his armor back in place and trying to flex it. "But my arm's still... well, I don't know, I can't use it or anything. I know I breathe in a lot of metal dust but, but it's never done anything like this before, so I'm pretty sure it's something from that bolt. You.. you don't think I've been poisoned, do you? Oh no, I probably have been. And that stuff didn't do anything. Are you sure you know what you're doing? You should use aloe instead of that stuff you had, that's usually good enough for most things. Man, I hope we can find an abandoned apothecary's place or something, they'll probably have some."

"I think the weapon was either poisoned or tainted with dark magic," the elven ranger said. "Maybe we'll find something at the temple to help you and the others." He then, irritated at Shaq'a ingratitude, went to see what he could do Melkarth and Solhidr.

Trump delenda estSethos rose up from within the small cave he had used to sleep in last night. Having arrived the day before just before nightfall, he had set up a camp inside a small cave near the road and unused to the seasons of Gaios had not awakened until just now. Walking to the cave's entrance, he grabbed his small pack and whip. Looking out towards the road, he saw several warriors looking as if they had just finished a battle. Noting one of them was a Falconman, he began jogging over to the group, his deep voice calling out, "Greetings, Eye of Horus! How do you come to be here?!"

/人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\ Will you make a contract with me?"Oh, you know, I flew, mainly," Ishaq replied to Sethos. "I walked a little, and ran. Oh, I got shot too," he waved around his right arm limply, by shaking his shoulder so that his limb flopped around. "But mainly I flew. I'm guessing you swam? Hey, you don't have any aloe, do you?"
"If the healers of the group can't solve this problem then I don't think aloe can. So, if the only cure looks like it's gonna be in the temple, then we better get going then, shouldn't we, instead of standing around chatting? Oh, and just follow us, and we can share stories on the way. All's that you need to know now is that we got ambushed." The harpy added for the benefit of the newcomer, while beginning to make her way towards the temple, without flying.
If you're reading this you have 5 seconds to...
While he didn't see any foes still standing Chereen did see the jackalman lying in obvious pain on the ground. He went over intending to heal him but got there just in time to see the Valkyrie use her own powers.
