All Purpose Frozen Fanfiction Thread

I really don't see how this can be wrapped up quickly.

So, remember when I said I had an idea for a fanfic?

May I present to you, "Thirteen". It's a crossover.

Alrighty, guys, I've got a big announcement to make... I just started this beauty. It's a fanfiction community - basically an archive of fanfics hand-picked by me.

I've been having trouble finding Frozen fanfics that I like, so I was hoping making a long list of criteria would help me narrow it down. If anybody has any suggestions, please PM me. Thanks a bunch.

Now, my original criteria list was WAY too long for the community summary, so if it's cut off on the link, it's because the stupid website hasn't updated with the shorter version yet. So let me just repeat the criteria here:

"Elsa stays single, similar tone to the movie, romance can't be the main focus. Movie-canon or OUAT-canon, no crossovers. ABSOLUTELY NO AU, explaining Elsa's powers, redeeming and/or pairing Hans or his brothers, fire magic, retconning Elsa/Anna's family relations, Elsa/Anna/Kristoff death, or Elsa/Anna having a child. PM me for suggestions. You can suggest your own."

Anyways, if someone has a good fanfic that meets all that criteria, please please PLEASE let me know. I wanna read good fanfics and I'm sick of having to wade through a bunch of Elsanna AU garbage and stuff.

I was going to make a second community called "Elsa Hooks Up" focused on fanfics that pair Elsa with characters besides Anna, Hans, Jack Frost, and OCs, but apparently you can only make one community at a time... Ah, well...

UPDATE: I decided to switch the criteria to "no bizarre crossovers." I'd have to be a pretty big hypocrite to prohibit all crossovers after that chapter I just posted...

Well, can't add my one to that. Elsa will be staying single, but it's a crossover with Kristoff and Anna dead, and having descendants.

Nor mine. Arctic Rim is a crossover, and A Song of Ice is, well, a prequel to A Song Of Ice And Fire with all the grimdark that entails, so...

In particular, if anyone knows of any stories that are longer than just plain one-shots, that'd be great because I don't really have time to do more than skim the first couple chapters to see if it sets off any of my red flags. All I want are some fanfics where I read them and my gut reaction is "this feels like it's in the same world as the movie I watched in theaters." I mean, grimdark reimaginings and whatever are fine, but I personally want to read a Frozen fanfic that feels like, y'know, Frozen.

Hans got sent back for punishment, as did Weselton...and they decide to spend their time convincing the rest of the world that Arendelle is under the thrall of a witch-queen with wintry and mind-snaring magicks, and it falls upon all heroes of the world to slay the witch and free Arendelle from her sorcerous grasp. Maybe make it a slice of life following the faceless guards from the movie as they protect their new queen from the hordes from well-meaning but still dangerous knights-errant?

The part where my fic starts losing its shit.

I'm trying to figure out how Elsa could conceivably use her ice magic to make a laser beam.

Something along these lines is totally what should've happened with the Southern Isles in OUAT.

You know, Spash, technically your fanfic doesn't fit into your fanfic community. Elsa has a lot of children.

It also has crossovers with Tangled and Beauty and the Beast. I actually had to go back and change it to "no bizarre crossovers," which is what I'd actually meant. I'd give a more clear-cut definition on what counts as "bizarre," but the stupid summaries have a really small word count limit AND YOU ALL KNOW WHAT I MEAN BY "BIZARRE," DANG IT!

I guess I could switch it to "no biological children" if we really want to get pedantic about this.

Also, it occurs to me that I left the field open for Olaf to die. But nobody would ever write a fanfic about that, right? Right? I mean, I don't even know if he can die without Elsa dying first anyways...

So...no ideas for Elsa-lasers?

I don't see why she can't use her magic to shoot an ice laser beam. In fact, didn't she blast the Snow Queen with something like that in the latest OUAT episode?

Well, I was thinking more a straightforward laser.

Admittedly, this is all for ideas so far down the line I don't even know why I'm thinking about them.

I mean, I don't even know if he can die without Elsa dying first anyways...

I don't think the small snow cloud would help him a lot if someone, let's say, just violently dropped him into a big fire, or into the ocean.

In my fanfic, I killed off Olaf in the first chapter. Just nit the Olaf you're thinking of.

I feel bad for Adrian. He's the only villain who never comes back from the dead somehow.

Re: Elsa-lasers.

Ice lenses.

I think there is one fanfic where Elsa can do lightning (because lightning is merely static created by friction between ice crystals inside a cloud), but I haven't seen Elsa lasers.

It's been like ten minutes since I finished this fanfic, and I already have no idea what to do with myself.

Also, please please please don't let this thread fall into disuse without my constant updates, guys. There are plenty of other Frozen fanfics in the sea.

With both this and Arctic Rim done, I'm not sure.

Well, I've started one, so at least I'll be posting updates here.

So, in the interest of keeping this thread from shriveling up and dying, I thought I'd share some of the fanfics I've harvested for the Elsa Stays Single community:

• Here's one about Elsa and Anna's crappy childhood. I haven't actually had time to read it yet, but apparently a child version of early concept art black-haired Elsa shows up as Elsa's imaginary friend or something.

• This one is great because I've always wondered what everyone's immediate reactions once they were on the boat at the end were, and this writer captured them perfectly. It feels like a deleted scene from the movie. I'd have written something like this for my own fanfic except it would've messed up the story pacing too much, and besides, I'm not sure how I could top this version.

• And from the same author, this fanfic deals with the repercussions of Elsa's extreme sexiness in a slightly less juvenile manner than I did with Fritz.

Okay, I've posted Trials of Elsa on Archive of Our Own, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to mark it as "complete." Can anyone help me out with that? Will the site just automatically do it eventually if I use the "complete" tag? I can't figure it out.
