My fucking A button is broken. I have to push it real hard in order for it to register. Fuck.

How do I get it fixed?

Is it still under warranty? If so, you could probably just send it into Nintendo and they'll fix it.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.

I got it when the 3DS first came out.

What else can I do? When a controller breaks, you replace the controller. With a handheld system, the controller is the system itself. I'm pissed off.

Did you try to contact Nintendo Customer service?

There's the Nintendo Support forum too. I think you might still be able to get a replacement, probably a refurbished model.

Thing is, all my savegames, and downloaded games are on there. I don't want to redownload everything.

I think they'll do that for you, as in moving your NN ID to the new one, and the Ambassador titles. You will have to redownload your games, though. And any game downloaded that you can't backup the saves for might not retain the save data. I'm not entirely sure what happens.

You shouldn't need to redownload your games if there isn't a problem with the SD card itself. My R button got broken and I got everything back as it was before.

Here in finland we just brought the broken consoles to distributer for them to repair it, I'd have thought that similar repair services would have existed in other countries <_< Otherwise you could take it to unofficial repair people. Or if you don't trust those, get 3DS XL or something like I did when L button broke.

And yeah, all sd cards worked after transfering data to new system. And transfering data to new system transfers all non sd card data to new console as well.

Don't titles get associated with your Nintendo ID? I wouldn't think there'd be too much of an issue there, and yeah, if you have an SD card, you needn't worry about your saves.

There's a little-known System Transfer function in the System Settings, which can be used to transfer everything from one 3DS to another — your games, save files, everything (except photos which you'll have to copy manually, and any credit card information you have saved for the eShop). If you send your 3DS to Nintendo for repairs, they should do that for you if they give you a refurbished console.
