Random as hell seeing this thread. Anyway it's okay as long as you don't mind the Continuity Snarl.
Oh c'mon seriously guys? No one wants to give kudos to this Anime? So what it's non-canon it was still an entertaining piece of work huh?
"I don't give a rat's ass about going to hell. I guess it's because I feel like I'm already there." -MugenIt wasn't bad... Until I learned from the Persona 4 stuff that it may have some continuity problems, especially since Atlus says viewers should treat it as a spin-off.
Nevertheless, the first time I've seen Abrahamic lore used.
@Onimae
If we're to use a measuring bar for spin-off series that did awful like Dragon Ball GT, then Persona Trinity Soul wasn't all that bad.
"I don't give a rat's ass about going to hell. I guess it's because I feel like I'm already there." -MugenIt's not like being better than DBGT would be difficult. Or at all impressive.
@Sabbo
It still chalks the show up as decent.
I think you guys are being unfair towards Trinity Soul.

"I don't give a rat's ass about going to hell. I guess it's because I feel like I'm already there." -MugenAren't all of the Persona games relatively self-contained, though? You don't need to play the first three in order to get the fourth one, in other words.
Fire, air, water, earth...legend has it that when these four elements are gathered, they will form the fifth element...boron.I watched a few episodes...I quit because it seemed pretty dark, not in that shitty things happen, but the tone was just kind of dreary. I personally couldn't get the same vibe from it as P3 or P4.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.@Rem
Pretty much. Even though Philemon is a key character in Persona 2 and Persona 1 him being the save point butterfly doesn't mean diddley to the plot of Persona 3 and Persona 4.
@Ruise
Trinity Soul has much the same vibe as Persona 3 for me. It's dark holy fucking hell and the Shadow Extraction makes it just as weird as 3. Don't know why you mentioned Persona 4 since it's one of the most light-hearted entries in the series. If you are hoping for some Persona 4 vibe then you can probably connect with the police prominent role in Trinity Soul. Moreover, the character Kunio Ito and Tomohiro Narasaki are the closest thing to the Dojima and Adachi dynamic in Persona 4.
But the police presence in Trinity Soul does
"I don't give a rat's ass about going to hell. I guess it's because I feel like I'm already there." -MugenEh, TS wasn't that fun for me. Had a great ED, but otherwise plain and boring.
"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - Sue
The OP was also pretty boss.
At least Persona Trinity Soul knew how to do resolution behind character's problems unlike Persona 4 the animation and didn't have that shit compressed like they did with Naoki.
"I don't give a rat's ass about going to hell. I guess it's because I feel like I'm already there." -MugenAs you may or may not know, NIS America isn't producing the DVD for the show.
Frankly, I don't know if there was a Blu-Ray release.
@Rem
- Apologies for necro post. You are right that most games are contained by itself. Some people have a hard time wrapping the show as a P3 sequel due to the inconsistencies of the elements from the former.
Reviving this:
Anyone who wants to watch TS (again or for the first time with an open mind), I recommend watching this after watching an episode to reflect and think about said content.

Honestly I would love it if Aditi made a reappearance in a traditional Shin Megami Tensei game.
Hey, Trinity Soul is non-canon, so I think it would be fair to reuse that design.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.... well I like grown-up Akihiko better in TS than the ridiculously Flanderized canon version so there's... that?
I actually like his Arena design but jesus. IIRC he literally mentions protein once in the game, right? And only in FES, when prompted by the MC.

Found out that someone posted the official translation of the White Whale storybook.
Sure it's no Persona 4 The Animation or Persona 3 movie nevertheless this is an entertaining-ass Persona spin-off. Whenever finding myself playing dungeons in Persona 4 Golden, I loves going through this series. The fights are just as fun and I still get the feel of the fights with Strega in Persona 3 when I watch this. ^^
