Guild Headquarters, Kakariko Town

Groose paced angrily around the meeting hall. He had finally managed to work his way up the ladder of the Guild, and become a Leader, and who did he get put in charge of? The Ex-Castle Guards? The Zora Special Forces Unit?

No. Groose was stuck with the rookies. The Z team. The Guild head and told him it would be a good, "character building" experience, which sounded to him like an excuse to try and convince him this was an important job.

Groose sat down at the head of the hall, and waited impatiently for the new recruits to arrive. He had... Nine? In all to introduce to the way of the guild, and two grunts who'd been with the guild for a while. He looked at the brief the Head had given him, and waited for them to arrive.

Gurr had made sure to leave early for the meeting, which was a good idea considering how many wrong turns he had taken getting here He prayed that he hadn't made any mortal enemies when he jumped through that window, but it had put him on the right path, and he had finally arrived at the right place and at the right time. He hoped. He was supposed to meet someone here, who he believed to be a Goron. With a name like Gurr Oose, this boss definitely had to be a Goron. However, while it looked like the right place, there was a Hylian inside, not a Goron.

"Uh... hello?" he said to the Hylian man as he stepped into the room. "Hello, sir, I'm Gurr. Gurr Malgia. I'm a new adventurer here. I am very glad to be an adventurer here and have this opportunity. Sir. The Hyrule Adventurers Guild. Me. Here. But, ummm.... I am not sure I am in the right place. I am looking for Mr. Gurr Oose, they said he would be at the Meeting Hall, and I hope I am in the right meeting hall, but I don't see him. Have you seen where he might be? I don't want to be late."

Andoro was ecstatic. Finally a permanent assignment to a team rather than all the provisional and trial assignments. He'd finally be able to observe the interactions of a group of Light dwellers over a long period of time. Also he might make one of these "friends" Light dwellers always talked about.

He walked into the meeting hall, seeing a Goron and a Hylian. Presuming the Hylian was his new commander he walked up and gave a careful nod so as not to overbalance his helm. Smiling widely, showcasing all of his sharpened teeth he greeted, "Hello Captain, I am Andoro of the Twili, reporting for duty."

Lumea made her way directly to the meeting hall. She was nervous, but excited too. This was the first real step of being accepted as a contributing member of the guild. It was important to make a good first impression.

Carrying her spetum with both hands, it's shaft resting on her shoulder (each of its blades in a wooden sheath), and her shield fixed firmly over her shoulder, she was ready. Stepping into the meeting hall, she was surprised, and a bit flustered to realize she had not arrived first. She'd made it a point to memorize the names of most of the other guild members (that she could, at least), and was quick to recognize Andoro and Gurr as being of the same station as herself. That meant the Hylian was obviously Captain "Goose".

Hoping to still endear herself with her superior, Lumea stepped alongside Gurr, looking up at Groose as she freed a hand to salute. "Sir! I'm Lumea, here as requested Captain Goose."

Mantle didn't have a hard time finding the Guild Hall given that she had applied the day before and then told to come back the next day. Being without a true a home to call her own, she had slept on a comfortable corner on the street and now was ready to receive her introduction.

Mantle knew she may appear strange, a small shape covered from head to toe by her clothes and bandages, her face hidden by a mask and the hooded mantle... but in Hyrule there were stranger sights to be seen and as long as she fought well, she hoped nobody would peer in too closely.

So, she walked into the place next to the Goron and the strange black, grey and blue individual... was he a Zora? He didn't look exactly like one but... Anyway, she stood by their side and simply said "Mantle"

Ryoli stepped into the hall and looked around, face half covered as usual. Both her Grappling Hook and Lute were secured to her back with belts over her tunic. She had signed up for this Hylian Town's Guild for the purpose of figuring out this strange world better. Nothing looked very familiar anymore, and as a self made explorer in a new place, this was unacceptable. Even the people were different. All the humans had pointed ears here, unlike her own world where most had rounded ones. The non-pointy eared ones here were all dark skinned and called Gerudo, some kind of land pirates that lived in a sea of sand. And there were no Rito tribes, but fish people called Zoras that used the Rito's symbol. Very interesting.

In the Guild Hall, a red headed Hylian she had not met before was sitting down. This man must be Captain Groose. The others present so far she had already met a few days ago or so. The large Goron (at lease they were consistent) called Gurr, the Hylian girl Lumea with the weapon too big for her, the heavily covered up one who could be a human called Mantle, and Andoro, the one whose race she had no idea about (what was a Twili?).

"I am Ryoli, Sir," she said in a half muffled way, standing next to Lumea. Her eyes roamed the hall's occupants before they bored into Groose, giving him full attention.

Irri entered the Guild Hall with a fluttering of wings, wobbling a bit in the air. Apparently her needle resembled a stinger if you weren't looking closely enough. She'd already been swatted at today. Twice.

So she was understandably a little grumpy. Though she was feeling a little better now that she'd made most of the town aware of the fact that giant glowing mosquitoes did not exist (privately she wondered if fairies were really that rare around here or if big people were just all slow on the uptake).

The tiny creature flitted over and hovered in the air in front of the Hylian she assumed was Captain Groose. She raised her arm in a salute too tiny to see.

"Irri the fairy reporting for duty, sir!"

"This is probably it," Quercus muttered to himself, looking up at the building. His habit warred with his pride as he admitted to himself that a tracker of his skill attaching 'probably' to the idea was an insult given the sign next to the door that read 'Hyrule Adventurers' Guild'. The doorknob was a little high up, but he was used to that in this world of tall and big people; he stood on his toes to turn it and stepped inside. The sound of voices from inside was clear, and he followed the hallway to what appeared to be the meeting room. "This is the Adventurers' Guild, right?" he asked, holding the flyer in one wooden hand.

It's been fun.

Grooses jaw slacked, as he stared, open mouthed at the small crowd assembled in front of him. A Hylian, a Goron, that rookie who called himself a "Twili", a Deku Scrub, some... Bandaged... Thing, a bird girl he didn't even recognise and a... A fairy?

He managed to collect himself, and checked the brief he'd been handed. They were all on it. Apparently he was still waiting for another Hylian, a Zora... And a Poe and a Stalfos? What was this? The undead squadron?

Groose addressed the group: "I'm Captain Groose. I'm the leader of your squadron, and I expect to be treated as such, understand? Now then, we seem to be waiting for a few more recruits, so feel free to mingle between yourselves until such a time."

"Mingle?" Lumea wondered aloud. She turned to the lineup beside her. She presumed that getting to know her comrades before setting out couldn't hurt, and may prove helpful for whatever mission they're sent on.

She sized up the rest of the group. They all seemed like such colorful people. She had no idea what to make of them. Lumea looked up to Gurr, as he was the closest. "So, Gurr? What brings you out into the world? I've never even seen a Goron before." It felt awkward to just force a conversation, but what else were they all to do? And she *was* curious. Surely no harm could come of merely asking.

Andoro kept grinning as he walked up to the fascinating winged girl. He began to fire of a rapid series of questions, "Hello, I'm Andoro of the Twili. Who are you? Why do you have wings but no one else I've seen have them? Is that a Lute? Could I hear you play it?" He continued on in this vein 'til he ran out of breath, then stood there looking at the girl expectantly with an absolutely enraptured look on his face.

A combination of factors, among which are just a bit of shyness, an observant nature and fear of giving herself away, prompted Mantle to take a few steps away from the main group... observing and listening to them as they spoke while she started to do some stretching exercises to warm up for whatever may come next.

And also for fun to say the truth, doing a handstand is always a bit fun and maintaining one with a single hand the more so.

Ryoli let Andoro talk with widened eyes until he was finished, amazed with how many questions a single person could ask. She blinked a few times and collected her thoughts before responding.

"My name is Ryoli, and I have wings because all Rito are born with them." It was as obvious an answer as why Gorons were rocky. They just were. She removed the lute from her back and checked the strings. "Yes, this is a lute. I don't think you'll recognize any of the songs I know, if it matters to you," Ryoli warned him.

"I always wanted to be an adventurer," Gurr replied to Lumea, eager to have someone to talk to. He lightly clapped his hands together and smiled. "I heard a bunch of stories of all the adventurers who went on to be heroes. I wanted my own legend. The Legend of Gurr. And to do that I had to be an adventurer first. But my dad always told me Gurr, you're a Goron, not an adventurer. You should think about your future. You need to pull your head out of the clouds, and put it in the rocks. Look at your brothers, they already moved out. You need to develop and refine your sense of taste, and who knows, maybe in a few years you might find a vein rich enough to buy a house with, so you can move into your own place too, and start your own family. Boboron's daughter, Shure, might not be a looker, but I bet she'd accept an offer from someone like you. But I didn't want to marry Shure, I wanted to be on a quest. Also, she had a mustache." Gurr shuddered.

"Then one day a mean man blocked the way to the cavern, and everyone was going hungry. I tried to tell everyone that the rocks at home tasted just as good, but they said they didn't like them and they would starve to death before eating something that wasn't tasty. I decided it was my chance to finally be a hero, but I was scared of monsters and I spent five days deciding if I could really go. Then when I finally decided to save the day, a little boy named Link was walking back from the cavern, and now he was the hero instead of me. Darunia even named his son after him." Gurr sighed.

"That could have been me, but I wasn't brave enough to do it, and a little kid was. I decided I needed to be brave too. And to be brave, I needed to buy one of those sword things, like he had. Once I found some shiny yellow rocks to buy it with, I snuck out and went to a merchant. But he didn't have any swords. Then the nice man told me that swords aren't what make you brave. It's what's inside that counts. And since I didn't need a sword, he took all of my rocks and sold me these things." He indicated his Longshots.

"But then when I went back, everyone had left. I guess they must have found a new cavern and forgot to tell me. But I didn't know where the new cavern was. So then I became an adventurer."

Irri flew over and landed on the ground in front of the strange bundled up person doing a handstand, who had stepped away from the group. Perhaps the p Well, Irri had enough boldness for everyone in the room, that's for sure.

"So, do you have to exercise a lot or is that just easier than it looks?" Asked Irri, before she flipped upside-down in a much tinier handstand, her wings buzzing to keep her steady. She still wobbled back and forth a lot. "Woah, this is... hard. You must train, like, every day to do this, huh?"

"Not everyday. But close. Not easy. But the more you try, the easier it gets" Replies Mantle to the questions of the little fairy, shifting a little to be able to see her clearly from behind her mask.

She then flexed her arm a bit harder, hopping off it to land in a crouch on both feet "For a warrior, their body is their instrument. To hone it is essential"

Mantle hesitated a moment before asking... but eventually, her curiosity moved her forward "What is a fairy doing so far away from the sacred places?"

A deep sigh escaped Irri's lungs, and she looked upward in thought.

"Even in troubled times, the sacred fountains are... well, sacred. Only a few heroes come and go, so I never knew anything of the outside world. The Great Fairy always told me that it was a dangerous place, but I liked that - I thought it would be so interesting to see all the races of the world, no matter how unfriendly, to get in fights, to battle alongside the heroes that we fairies heal... so I left. And here I am. That sounds silly, doesn't it?" Said the fairy, looking up at Mantle.

The loud thud of someone slamming facefirst into the front door announced the presence of Tlayok... as also did the subsequent louder thuds of a few crates pinning him to it.

"Ow! Okay, uh... I'm here! I think. Am I late?" He pushed against the wood of the door, trying to dislodge a corner from his ribs.

Faced with those words, the masked individual quieted down for a moment, turning her back to the fairy and continuing her stretching, lifting a leg as high up in the air as she could "Not silly. To see the world... that's a good thing. Not wanting to be locked away. I can understand"

However, Mantle soon heard the noise of someone crashing and looked over to the door "May need help" she says and then goes Tlayok, helping him stand up wordlessly.

Quercus frowned a bit. Already there were so many new people here... so many people in general, and all of them so very tall. He wondered how they managed to tell what they were stepping on, or if they even bothered. "Here," he said, grabbing a small crate from the pile the new, moist-looking blue fellow had knocked over into the room. He set it down in the corner.

It's been fun.

Sheila walked up to the door of Guild. "Hopefully this is the place..." she said slightly exasperated. She had tried a few other places, but was always turned away. Eventually she found a soldier to direct her there though. But now isn't the time to be lamenting directional faux pas, now is the time to finally make some freinds, to be a "city girl".

She went in and loudly exclaimed, "HELLO!'.

Kanka lazily drifted out of the wall, looking around at the collected adventurers. "Oh." He drifted to his usual position slightly below Andoro's shoulder, lantern clinking gently. "So, before you throw any bottles or anything, just—just back off, okay? Name's Kanka. Andoro here bottled me once, so I figure I should stop haunting the place. We're your seniors, got it? And—heyyyyy..." He eyed the Gerudo in the group. "Hey, Andoro. Check it out. Think we got any sneaks in the group...? Ask about the Thing later. With the bottle, and your weird shadow stuff."

He glared with distaste at the loud girl. The Hylians' clattering and banging and yelling was what caused him to haunt them in the first place.

Lumea nodded along with Gurr's story. She tried to follow it, but couldn't help but to be a bit surprised at the level of detail such a simple question called out. "Oh. That was, very informative, Gurr. Thank you," she said in a tone which she hoped didn't sound too flat. Eyeing Gurr's longshots for a moment, she asked, "So, what are those things anyway? What do they do?"

Almost as soon as she had asked the question however, a loud bang at the door heralded Tlayok's entrance. "Wha-?" Lumea uttered with a start. She began to move toward the door to see if he was alright, but another sudden arrival startled her. Sheila's jubilant greeting stopped Lumea in her tracks, and hardly a moment longer an apparition phased through the wall and began some strange lecture. She pondered the poe's words. "Is this some kind of prank?" Lumea asked, indignantly.

"No, thank you," Gurr said. "These are..." he was about to start another story when he noticed Lumea had walked off in the direction of some commontion. "Hello?" he muttered to himself as he went that way too.

"Hello!" Gurr greeted the new faces, bending down to pick up another crate in the knocked-over pile, and lightly chucked it over in the general direction of the corner where Quercus had set down his crate. Because that was probably the right place for them.
