If bowser was the rightful ruler of Dinosaur island, then he was a pretty dickish ruler. No need to feel bad about that.
EDIT: it's a pretty big "if", though. In fact, I'd like to know where you got the idea.

Dinasaur land, is Yoshi's Island...Bowser is not the rightful ruler, he is a turtle dragon with an Ox head, a Koopa King not king of dinasaurs.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I think there's a bit of empty praise going on here. Level design aside, there's also a bunch of secrets that won't possibly be discovered by the first time you play, and.... that's it.
There aren't many ways to play this thing though. The only methods of attack are fireballs, cape swing, rotating jump or just use the cape to fly down and hopefully you'll hit something. Once you finish the game and then what?
It's a common thing in 2D platformers, and it merely sets a sort of standard, nothing more.
Same as usual.... Wing it.Beat the game? Then it is just find all the secret paths and extra levels, which in theory put all your gained skills to the ultimate test. (In practice, trial, error and Tubular).
I know that this is pretty much straightforward, and I'm probably over thinking all of this, but I had to write it down, it was driving me crazy! (This, and Tubular, of course!)

Do you guys think that there's more than meet the eye in this classic? I was replaying it last night, and kinda got stuck with the idea that Bowser is the rightful ruler of the Dinosaur Land, and Peach, and in a lesser extent, Mario, are screwing his kingdom the same way he did to Peach's... What do you think?
EDIT: My reasons to think so: -The castles you have to fight are all controlled by the Koopalings, and when you defeat them, does not come a king who were transformed in a snake, another dinosaur who were exiled from his/her home, nothing. Ludwig Von Koopa, for instance, seems to be in his castle for quite a while, since he is composing symphonies there.
- The Valley of Bowser lies in a very strategical position, right in the center of the Dinosaur Land, and considering the Sunken Ship as the Flying Ship from Super Mario Bros. 3, is not too wild to assume that after the events in SMB 3 Bowser retreated to his own base, the ship so damaged that it barely made it, and sunk right in the doorstep.
- The very Bowser's Castle, the first time that comes to my mind that Bowser is shown in a place of his own, not in a hijacked castle from Mushroom Kingdom.
- Of course, this one is just a fallacy, but the place is the DINOSAUR LAND, for crying out loud! Makes perfect sense that the place is ruled by a Dinosaur/Dragon as Bowser.
