Sorry, I'm really late into this discussion but just confused and my own 2 cents:
Despite it being an ending boss, at this point, isn't the image long considered a Late-Arrival Spoiler? Especially since the image is from a remake of the 1999 game and is probably easily recognizable example for those even outside the fandom (so we wouldn't have to go through all the trouble explaining it through the caption) ?
