Has anyone heard of an animation company called Rabbit Ears Productions?

Rabbit Ears Productions (now called Rabbit Ears Entertainment) was an animation company that came out in 1985 and featured stories that were narrated by famous celebrities such as Meryl Streep, Robin Williams, Denzel Washington, John Candy, Raul Julia, Danny Glover, Whoopi Goldberg and Nicholas Cage. The stories would range from Tall Tales, Fairy tales and Folktales and they used limited animation for their productions.

What were some of your favorite stories from this company?

I'm guessing YOU were the guys who made those HBO Storybook musicals?

No, the user rabbitearsblog is not the official account of the company. She is a cartoon lover who likes good storytelling in animation. In fact, she makes youtube videos. Go to the site and search for rabbit ears blog.

Oh no! I'm not one of the creators of Rabbit Ears! Just a fan! I was just giving out a brief description of the company so that everyone would know what this company is, since it's not well known among many fans.

Anyway, no Rabbit Ears wasn't responsible for the HBO Storybook musicals (although I wished they were). I think the HBO Storybook Musicials were partially owned by Weston Woods.

Yeah. The opening theme to them was an Ear Worm for me to this day, and my favorite story was the African-American version of "The red shoes" for obvious reasons. Where can I find them online?

Oh yeah! I remembered the "Red Shoes" segment! I also remembered watching "Lyle the Crocodile" and "Earth Day," the one that had the dinosaurs celebrating Earth Day. I also remembered the "Marzipan Pig" which was the one where a chocolate pig gets eaten and starts a chain reaction with all the animals involved. I really loved that series!

Have you seen any stories from Rabbit Ears Productions before?

I watched a lot of these growing up! I was going to mention remembering the Fool and the Flying Ship and noticed your avatar is from that. I remember thinking the Boy Who Drew Cats had a creepy atmosphere, though I don't know if I would still think so as an adult.

Text I feel is necessary to append to every post.

Oh yeah! I remembered "The Boy Who Drew Cats" and I remembered it being scarier than the other Rabbit Ears stories (with the exception of Sleepy Hollow). What were your favorite Rabbit Ears Stories? Mine were:

The Fool and the Flying Ship, John Henry, Pecos Bill, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, East of the Sun West of the Moon, The Emperor and the Nightingale, The Fisherman and his Wife, How the Rhinoceros Got His Skin and How the Camel Got His Hump.

Yeah, I think several of them are on You Tube like "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," "Jack and the Beanstalk," "How the Rhinoceros Got His Skin and how the Camel Got his Hump," "Paul Bunyan" and parts of "The Fool and the Flying Ship." You can type down "Rabbit Ears Productions" to find more stories on You Tube!

I'm surprised that they haven't aired Rabbit Ears Productions on TV yet! I remembered they used to air this on both Showtime and PBS and I actually wished that they aired this on PBS again or at least remake these specials!
