But that's the thing, Scar being childish was the whole point of the character. He is a guy who thinks being King is a non-stop party, and refuses to accept any repsonsability for his actions or the people.

Exactly. What makes this bit truly interesting is that it's a direct parallel with Simba himself. Remember "I Just Can't Wait To Be King"? Scar tries to rule in a manner similar to how Simba, as a naive child, thought being king would be like.

I'd have taken Ratcliffe, Kaa and Prince John out and traded them for Facilier, Original! Gantu (more of a justified antagonist than a villain, but still an awesome Unstoppable Man enemy before Villain Decay sank in) and Syndrome. Maybe Negaduck if TV series villains were 'allowed'.

[up][up] Now I understand what you mean by Scar being childish. Not to mention, his childish jealousy towards his brother Mufasa, leading to his demise.

The bad guy in Atlantis had a pretty brutal death, I mean hell he turned to fucking crystal and got chopped up in a balloon blades.

That's one of the few things I remember from that movie, the bad guy turning into a super crystal bad guy, along with Michael J. Fox's character saying things like that Ireland was actually Iceland and that he was vomiting carrots despite not eating any.

When you think about it, i think Scar made the top 5 list because he was the first Disney Villain to be related to the Hero by blood.

I mean, think about it, what's more villainous; a complete stranger plotting against you or a member of your own family, your own flesh and blood, making an attempt on your life, murdering your own father and taking what was rightfully yours just satisfy their own greed, jealous behavior and egomania?

He is also the first one to kill a major character of the Disney movie line-up. Techinically Man also killed Bambi's mom, but Man was not much of a villain and more of a indescritible force of nature without character.

Scar, I believe, was the first villain in the traditional sense to kill a main character. After him there were also Clayton (who kills T'Chak in the clímax of Tarzan) and Doctor Facilier (who kills Ray in the clímax of Princess and the frog).

Man is on the very top of a lot of lists, so I guess, yeah, villains who cause childhood trauma's are usually at the top...with the exception of the Coachman...but I guess that's because he is less a cause for a childhood trauma and more a reason to never ever watch Pinocchio again.
