I’m writing a zombie apocalypse comic. It centers on four survivors who are looking for another one that is trapped in a skyscraper (read: damsel in distress). The survivors start in a small South Georgia town and make their way to Atlanta on behalf of the damsel’s father. I’m looking for an artist that wants freedom in how he draws the comic. There will be very little instruction on most panels, with occasional exceptions. I’m not looking for a manga artist, but still one that reflect the story’s seriousness. I also don’t want sexualized, fanservice characters, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make them attractive. Everything else is fair game. I have instructions for the first eight pages and character descriptions below. Look and see if you’re interested. There are two male heroes (Ollie and Roby) and two female (Sidney and Alice). Alice is a CDC representative who was sent to investigate the zombies and carries around a tripod and video camera for recording zombies and a revolver, a lever action rifle, and a katana. Ollie wears a golf bag in which he keeps various rifles and shotguns. Roby is ex-military, and chooses a sniper rifle, handgun, combat knife and various homemade explosives as his weapons and is in his mid forties. Sidney is an archer who uses a compound bow. Do whatever else you want in designing them. These zombies aren’t undead, but a headshot is needed to kill them. Maybe; I haven’t decided if that kills them or not. Body shots will put them down and they seem dead, but they heal from the wounds overtime. Ether • Page 1 o Panel 1  Ollie and Sidney are present. Ollie is putting weapons in his golf bag, which are laying on a tailgate of a truck. Draw Sidney, Ollie, and the tailgate, but nothing past those. Keep the panel “zoomed in” on those. • Sidney: You’re an idiot, you know that right? o Panel 2  Zoom out and show that those two at the edge of a neighborhood. Past them is a wall of…whatever, just make it something that could be found in a trailer park or suburban neighborhood, your pick. • Ollie: I don’t care what you say, you’re not stopping me. o Panel 3  Show the vast numbers of zombies outside the safe area. Throw in some attacks, some survivors and the military fighting zombies. Keep in mind that the military has created some safe zones, but is mostly focused on keeping the zombies contained in Georgia. • Ollie: We know where this girl is and if everyone else is too busy taking care of this place, then I can think of no reason why I shouldn’t go after her. • Sidney: Well, aside from the thousands of cannibals, I can’t think of one either. o Panel 4  Ollie has the golf bag on his back and is walking to the driver’s seat. • Ollie: I’m going. • Page 2 o Panel 1  Ollie has opened the driver’s door and is about to step in when Roby runs to the truck. • Roby: Wait! • Ollie: Don’t tell me I should- • Roby I want to help you. o Panel 2  Ollie closes the door and looks pleasantly surprised. Sydney facepalms. • Ollie: Welcome aboard. o Panel 3  Alice walks towards the three. She is holding a video camera and a tri-pod. • Alice: Hey! There more room on that ship? o Panel 4  Ollie grins, Sidney looks to the sky, and Roby looks like he’s pondering the situation. • Ollie: Yes there is. • Sidney: Really God? o Panel 5  Ollie, Alice, and Roby are getting in the truck. • Ollie: Last chance, Sid. • Sidney: *Sigh*… fine, but only to make sure you aren’t ripped limb from limb. o The truck is leaving a door in the wall. • Page 3 o Panel 1  The four are riding in the truck, with Ollie at the wheel and Sidney in the front passenger seat. The 4th wall is sitting on the hood of the truck. • Ollie: So what are your names? • Alice: I’m Alice. • Roby: Name’s Roby. • Ollie: I’m Ollie and this is Si- o Panel 2  Ollie slams on the break. His expression is serious and determined. • Ollie: Everybody out. Grab a weapon. o Panel 3  A crowd of zombies is surrounding a small family. They are sitting on the porch of their house, fighting the zombies off with shovels, baseball bats, and whatever else could be found around the house, but no guns. They should look helpless. Ollie is running toward them with his golf bag on his back, firing his shotgun. o Panel 4  The other three are in the truck, looking at the event. They are surprised. o Panel 5  Alice and Roby have left the truck. Sidney is in the exact same position as before. o Panel 6  Sidney looks behind her and sees the other two are gone. o Panel 7  Exact same picture as before. • Sidney: Wait, we’re really doing this? • Page 4 o Panel 1  Roby is on the roof of the truck with his sniper rifle and Alice is getting her camera and tri-pod out. Sidney is standing outside also, yelling at the others. • Sidney: Has it only occurred to me that this is a crap idea? o Panel 2  Roby is focused on the task of shooting zombies, but is still talking to Sidney. • Roby: Shut up! If you are capable of helping in any way, than stop complaining and get to work. If not, then sit down and shut up! o Panel 3  Draw Sidney with a thought bubble that shows Ollie getting graphically killed by zombies. o Panel 4  Same drawing as Panel 2. • Sidney: What do I do? o Panel 5  Roby is looking at Alice. • Roby: Are you going to do anything? • Page 5 o Panel 1  Alice throws a monkey toy that looks like the Monkey Bomb in Nazi Zombies, but no dynamite, at a nearby car. o Panel 2  The crowd runs at the toy as it goes off. Sid is on the porch, talking to Ollie. • Sid: I’m only going to say this once… o Panel 3  Roby is lighting a pipe bomb. Show him and Alice. • Alice: High-pitched sounds attract them like moths to light. o Panel 4  Roby throws his pipe bomb at the car, which blows up. • Roby: I think you mean “ • Page 6 o Panel 1  During the explosion, Sidney is bringing the family down the stairs of their porch, making the “quiet” sound. Ollie is also on the porch. o Panel 2  Ollie is yelling at and shooting the surviving zombies, who are running at him. He is on the end of the porch that is closest to the car. Roby and Alice are also shooting them • Ollie: Everyone get in line! I promise I’ll ventilate each and every one of you! o Panel 3  Sidney is leading the family around the house, currently at the side of the house farthest from the zombies. o Panel 4  Ollie is still shooting at the zombies. Now he’s in the middle of the porch. o Panel 5  Sidney and the family are behind the house, at the middle. Sidney is putting arrows in two surviving zombies. o Panel 6  Ollie is still shooting (hey, it’s a lot of zombies). Now he’s at the end of the porch farthest from the car. o Panel 7  Sid and the family have gone around the house and are running to the truck. o Panel 8  Ollie is shooting the last zombie. • Ollie: Told you you’d get you turn. • Page 7 o Panel 1  The four and the family are at the truck, relieved that they are alive. o Panel 2  Same picture as before. • Sid: Hey, Ollie… • Ollie: Yeah? o Panel 3  Focus on Sid. • Sid: WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING? • Page 8 o Panel 1  Everyone is shocked, except the furious Sid. • Ollie: What did I d- o Panel 2  Sid is in Ollie’s face now. • Sid: You nearly got us all killed when you decided to play hero! We could be looking at the apocalypse here; we have to focus on our own survival! • Ollie: If you’re so against “playing hero” than why did you come? • Sid: I was hoping to talk some amount of sense into you and keep you alive! If you want to save this girl, than you need to live long enough to do so! • Ollie: If I have any opportunity to- o Panel 3  Roby pushes Ollie and Sid away from each other and steps between them. • Roby: ENOUGH! o Panel 4  Roby is facing Sid. Alice is videoing the event. • Roby: We are here to save someone’s life. If we run into people who need our help, then we will do everything in our power to do so. If you aren’t going to help us, than you can leave! o Panel 5  Robby is now facing Ollie. Alice is still videoing. • Roby: We are here to save people’s lives. We cannot do this if we’re dead. You can’t run in guns blazing every time you see someone in need. We will do everything we can, but if you don’t think before act, you will die and probably kill us as well! If you want to that, than you can LEAVE! o Panel 6  Sid and Ollie are shocked. Roby is looking directly into Alice’s camera. • Roby: Why? • Alice: I’m CDC. I was sent here to investigate the infection. I can’t let anything escape my notice.

I know that this is far from the best that you've read. This is my first attempt at writing a webcomic. You'll have to be patient with me. If possible, please provide a link to your work. I would like an artist as soon as possible. One last thing: I have no interest in making money off of this and, considering I'm just starting, I probably won't anyway. This is just for the sake of making a comic (and getting practice for a career in comics). Thank you for your time.

Holy giant wall of text, Batman!

You might want to read Text-Formatting Rules and see if you can make that look at least somewhat readable.

You also should put it under the Visual Arts category, but you should be aware that artists for webcomics separate from the writer usually look for payment.
