...you do realize no one ever legitimately calls them "lel so randum XD" games, right?

In any case, I can definitely see the Tony Hawk comparisons. The area design and "tricks" immediately reminded me of Tony Hawk.

Apparently I like "lel so randum XD" games. If that bothers you, I can PM you instructions on how to fix my tastes. In the meantime, where can I get more "lel so randum XD" games? :P

Nah, I'm not saying those kinds of games are bad. I'm just saying Goat Simulator just doesn't have as much to offer as, say Saints Row.

You want a list, here's a good list

  • Saints Row (well, besides the first one which was just a crappy GTA ripoff)
  • Garry's Mod (server dependent, but there's plenty of "wacky" severs out there")
  • Just Cause 2
  • Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon (hell even the original Far Cry 3 kinda approaches on this territory)
  • Tony Hawk post-THUG 2 (when they started adding a bunch of stupid shit, actually NVM don't bother playing these, just play THPS 1-THUG 1)
  • Frog Fractions
  • Dead Rising 1&2 (the third one went grimdark for some reason)
  • Jazzpunk (actually, tbh this and Frog Fractions are too smart to be considered "randumb" but I really like them so I'll just list it here just to give it a shout-out)
  • Flatout (besides the execrable Flatout 3 that was made by some Shovelware dev, Next Car Game is the "true" Flatout 3)
  • Magicka? (it sorta encroaches on this style in terms of its silly tone but the gameplay itself isn't very "wacky." The second one is multiplayer only though so you may not like that)

Edit: Also, before you get scared of Jazzpunk being published by [adult swim], trust me, don't worry. It's actually a lot more clever than you'd think. It's far closer to, say Space Ghost than the kinda bullshit Tim and Eric make.

I don't think any of those compete with the flat-out hilarity and "lel so randumness" of Goat Simulator, though. The whole point of the game is to be so bad it's funny, and that's not the case with any of the titles you listed off. I just wish it wasn't $10.

[up] Dude you have NOT played Just Cause 2 Multiplayer.

It's literally like 10,000 people on one island engaging in one massive shitstorm of inane bullshittery. Seriously, they added a boost button that instantly sets you to like 1000mph when you press shift and like you can fly boats using the boost and do boat jousting. It's amazing.

Look, Goat Sim is cute, it's just not $10 dollars cute.

I suppose I can agree with that. Seems more like a $5 game to me. Still... It's too funny for me to pass up. Besides, Just Cause 2 is a $15 dollar game. It also sounds like it's mainly multiplayer, which really isn't my thing. I'm sorry you don't find Goat Sim funny, but I do. If my shitty tastes bother you, you could try to change them, but that's for another thread.

Just Cause 2 is primarily a single player game. Only recently was there a multiplayer mod made for it that allowed you to do the stuff that the Robo guy said. But single player still allows for similar shenanigans to happen at a larger scale.

New paid expansion coming up. It's dubbed Goat Z, and yes, it sounds a lot like that other thing (and that other thing too, *shudder*):

Okay, so, like, Goat Simulator is free on Xbox Live with Gold at the moment so I downloaded it. And it was a bunch of fun so I downloaded the MMO/Zombie DLC. But it seems the DLC is actually a separate game. Like, most of the same mechanics and basically the same game on a new map, but nonetheless, a separate game as far as the Xbox is concerned.

Which means I can't use mutators earned in one game while playing the other. Which I'm pretty sure isn't supposed to happen. One online reference mentions using the anti-gravity mutator in the Goatville map, but since the AG mutator can only be obtained in the MMO map, that's impossible.

Anyone else having the same experience with the Xbox version?

Edit: Oh, uh, also, yeah, the base game is free with Gold on XBL right now, in case you wanted it but didn't want to buy it.
