I prefer comic book movies staying relatively true to the source material. If they ever make a Black Panther movie (fingers crossed), I wouldn't like T'Challa being played by Chris effin' Pine. Or the atrocity that was new!Khan.

It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.I too prefer faithfulness to the original in adaptations, but I won't automatically dismiss an actor for being the wrong color.
And I've seen Wrath of Khan. Benny C. shits on Ricardo.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! It's true not a lot of people can top the original Khan, but I liked Cumberbatch's version of Khan. Still would have been best to wait to do Wrath of Khan, but what's done is done.
Cumberbatch is a good actor. But he just couldn't catch that certain.. aura of Ricardo's Khan. He always seemed like trying too hard.

It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.I didn't see any of Ricardo's Khan in Cumberbatch. I don't think he was trying to emulate the original in any way. But back on topic; when's the release date for this?
June 19, 2015. According to The Other Wiki.
It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.Sandwiched right between Age of Ultron and Assassin's Creed(Possibly August 7th, 2015). Not too horrible of places.
The Wikipedia page doesn't mention it, but have they made a decree on whether or not Sue and Johnny are full siblings, half sibling, adopted siblings, or what yet?
Everything I've read is that they're still full siblings.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatWho's Sue?
I figured their choice of Doctor Storm meant that Sue was the adoptee. Though I suppose they could be full siblings, it is difficult for many audiences, and me to alesser extent, for a biracial couple to produce children that look... Not-mixed. I mean I hear it's possible, It's just not a concept I'm famillair with or have even seen.
Also, Chronicle was fantastic. I have low hopes for this movie despite Chronicle's fantastic-ness, but that's for different reasons.
The Blog The ArtSomehow I knew someone would cry bigotry.
Is it so much to ask that the guy actually look the part of his role? Why is it racist to want a Johnny Storm to look like Johnny Storm? Especially when the actress playing his sister is white?
Further, while you are entitled to your opinion just as I am, I'll explain why I disliked Chronicle. I disliked Chronicle because it dragged on far too long and none of the characters made sense nor were they entirely sympathetic. It's riddled with high school drama cliches and was entirely too predictable. The main character films everything for no other reason than the movie wanted to be a Found Footage movie. Cloverfield, the guy was documenting the apocalypse, and in Blair Witch, they were also documenting the exploration. But in Chronicle, the guy just carries it around to be an asshat. Speaking of which, the Found Footage premise made absolutely no sense given the way it was edited. Even if you buy the story that he made it for his friend and left it in the mountain. So, he took footage from the MC's camera and that girl's, and the security footage from the convenience store, and got the footage from those random people's phones, and took the hospital footage? Speaking of which, why was the hospital filming him? It just felt like the movie was trying to have its cake and eat it too by having a Found Footage film that was edited.
And the characters had to google telekinesis, despite it being such a popular term these days. This is especially less believable given how nerdy and well read some of the characters were. Kind of a nitpick, but still.
Why does Johnny Storm have to only have one look?
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatWould you make Superman black?
Yeah, why not?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThere's no reason he couldn't or shouldn't be.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatWhere have they said that Jonny and Sue aren't step-siblings?
I do agree that Chronicle didn't really need to be Found Footage, but your "a Mr. Fantastic that looks so fruity that he makes Edward Cullen look manly." isn't exactly a proper criticism.
Best to look something up to get a better understanding. Even popular terms could be muddled.
If it fit what the authors wanted to tell, I'd have no problem.
It's kind of hard to say "It's not about bigotry" while also throwing a homophobic barb at the actor playing Mr. Fantastic.
Why are people throwing homophobic slurs at Miles Teller? He's not gay/bi. As far as I know.
It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane. He's not, which makes "He's so fruity he makes Actor X look manly" even more baffling.
Superman has been black before if I recall. One of them What If? things, non?
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Oh. Well, that's definitely unfortunate. Can't compare the two, though. People throwing slurs at Teller are just homophobic dumbmooks. While (most) people upset over Mr. Fantastic are just objecting a bad casting choice. Unrelated stuff.
Dunno. I've read about Soviet Superman, Nazi Superman, Cyborg Superman and Angry Santa Superman. Never run into Black Superman, yet,

It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.I believe the criticism was saying the Mr.Fantastic actor doesn't look as masculine as the character ought to be (which is a theoretically valid complaint. If they got Jaden Smith to portray Black Panther a similar logic would apply), not a homophobic slurs at him. Now I don't agree with him, but the logic is sound.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Reed's thing is being smart, not being a manly man.
Teller doesn't have that "smartest guy on the planet" look to him, but then again, who does, really.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!
I was more going on casting choices over looks of a character. I don't really care what the character looks like as long as their talent is able to bring the character to life.
