i like gravity falls as much as the next guy, but we usually recommend that people don't play villains as their first character. not to say they don't show up, but it just tends to be really hard to play them well as the first character someone jumps into the game with.

i'd actually recommend playing dipper, if you wanted to stick with the gravity falls bit, since things in room can get pretty mysterious and interesting in that vein.

(also we haven't reset the password so unfortunately we can't quite confirm that you've actually read the rules but that's our fault. sorry about that.)

Personality: He's a very kind and benevolent dino-man who died for your sins. Unlike his human counterpart, Raptor Jesus is very jokey. However, don't mistake his easygoing nature for someone you can just toy around with.

Abilities: He can preform miracles if he so chooses. However, usually he just resorts to lightning bolts and nomming on people's heads with his teeth.

Just as villains aren't the best kinds of characters to play on your first go, jokey characters aren't really the thing you start out with, either. It's not as if we're stuffy and completely serious or anything; people do silly stuff in the thread all the time. But silly stuff, fun though it may be, isn't a good way to get a feel for the thread and how we like to do things.

I apologize for making you redo your signup a second time, but I really think you oughta pick another character. If it'd help, I'd suggest looking through this thread at the other signups we've taken and seeing the kinds of characters we like to see when people start out here.

Personality: She's a constantly curious woman who used to be a mermaid. Her clumsy way of walking and muteness hide a very intelligent mindset. She likes any human thing that she finds and is constantly on the lookout for knowledge about human technology. She has the ability to have empathy for fish and other marine animals. If something gets in her way, she tries to think of a way to get around it rather than take it on full force.

Abilities: She can lift boulders with her arms, and she can swim as fast as an Olympic swimmer. Other than that, she's just a normal human.

Ariel's a good character to use, but we'd like to have more detail in the signup than that, particularly in the personality section, 'cause that's the most important part.

I've fleshed out the personality part of the signup.

While that's certainly an improvement, I don't think it's quite enough for what we want. For now, at least, the answer's gonna have to be no from us. That doesn't mean you can't try again some other time; you're free to do so whenever you like. Again, my apologies for making you jump through a couple of hoops for this.

• Name: Saitama.

• Age: 25.

• Gender: Male.

• Appearance: [1]◊

• Personality: Incredibly bored, and slightly airheaded. He would be more worried about the local sale at the supermarket in the middle of a battle to the death. Very humble, deprecating his achievements as they are just "normal" for him. He tends to miss implied messages unless they are outright said to him, and has a memory problem with names. He is far from stupid, though, and can say just the right thing to diffuse a situation. He doesn't take hero work seriously, as it is just a part time hobby for him, but that doesn't mean he doesn't respect true heroes. He is constantly looking for a challenging battle, and is frequently searching for foes with a power level either equal or above him. So far, he has not found anyone, causing some depression.

• Abilities: Superhuman strength, endurance, speed, and mental resistance. The power level is the maximum allowed without being too overpowered. He achieved psychic resistance by not using the air conditioner in the summer. Science!

Yep, that looks good. You can hop in whenever you like. Only thing is that you shouldn't have Saitama completely wreck people 'n shit (because of how powerful he is), but you already mentioned that, so it should be all good. If you need any pointers or help with anything, just shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can do.

Alright, cool. He won't be doing much fighting, and if he does do his classic One Punch, it'll be Played for Laughs. How should I do his introduction?

Well, the whole setting of the place is a weird house in the woods, so you could have him just show up someplace, confused about where he is.

Personality: Kinda a weird mix of shy and outgoing, if that makes any sense. Quite curious about other people, and often asks a lot of questions about things, but is sometimes reluctant to tell others about herself. Sometimes seems somewhat...sheltered, and is startled easily.

Oh, and she can't talk. Which is why she has the dry-erase board for communication.

Abilities: Rather stronger and tougher than one would expect a girl in her late teens to be, not that this gets demonstrated much. This isn't to levels that would really be considered superhuman though, so...

yeah, you generally don't need to post a new sheet for every new character once you're in the door. we have the sign ups to make sure that people start out with a good character to cut their teeth with.

• Appearance: 1/4" tall, black ant, missing two middle legs.
• Personality: Cocky, confident, arrogant, Johnny Gatherer is nothing like the original Johnny Gatherer. Instead, this incarnation of the ant warrior is lustful, not for women per se, but for life, and himself. He believes himself to be a charming rogue, and sometimes that's all you need. This isn't one of those times. He is also absolutely sure he'll win every fight, even when he won't. Which is most times. He aims to please. Please himself.
• Abilities: Samurai speed. Advanced sword technique. Stealth. Perception.

Hey, welcome to the thread!

I think I'm gonna have to say no to that character. As a general rule of thumb, we don't really like to have Casanova-type characters in the thread. I'm sure that you don't mean anything bad by that (he is, after all, an ant), but it's still something that we try to be careful about, even if it's kind of jokey. If you wanna try again, I suggest using a different character.

What about with that edit?

Your edit doesn't address the concern that I had, so I'm going to have to say no again.

What needs change? I got rid of the Casanova parts you brought up concerns with.

Also, I understand the idea you're trying to enforce with the limitation, and how certain characters taking it too far can make RPers feel uncomfortable, and I completely understand that you want people to be as comfortable as possible at all times. But, I feel like if this is a character and interaction based forum, then isn't it more interesting to have characters that dislike each other and have arguments? Isn't it more interesting to have a character who's willing to devote themselves to a complete stranger, so as to juxtapose a character that views love as sacred, or even a character who is foreign to the idea of love? It's just an opinion, and it's your decision at the end of the day, but I was just sort of wondering about it in greater detail, so, feel free to sideline me, I just wanted my silly little voice to be out there.

While character disagreements and conflict are certainly enjoyable and can drive interesting interactions, these aren't the sort that we really want to have. It's not something that's necessarily going to get weird and uncomfortable, but it's a bit risky, especially for a new person who's just joining. As such, I don't think I can give you the go-ahead. For now, the answer's no.

You didn't remove them satisfactorily enough; elements of it are still present. I'm sorry, but the final answer is no. If you want to apply later on in the future with a different character, go for it. Until then, I hope you find another RP where you'll be a better fit.

Why?! Just tell me what part to cut out and I'll do it! Instead of allowing me to change what's making this character incompatible in your eyes, you're blacklisting the whole character, when I've removed the single complaint you've relayed to me. I'm not unwilling to change, you just aren't giving me the proper idea of what to change.
