So Savitar got Black Flash'd then...?

Ecstatic actually. More so if it takes. Mama Allen was saying exactly what I was thinking, Barry's character arc is more or less done. He's already closed the case of his mother's murder. Investigated every lead, read all the files, followed all of the footprints. Shacked up with his childhood sweetheart, obtained enlightenment from the mental embodiment of the very source of his powers, and now literally defeated an evil version of himself.

Huh...I really liked this episode. For a subpar season, this was a pretty decent finale. But yeah, the Speedforce is soooo unnecessarily cruel in this show. I hate it so much.

I love Barry, but I'm excited to see the Team function without him for a while. But I hope it's not like Flashpoint arc where the writers only do it for one episode. This is the perfect time to focus on other characters.

Next season, I want a more badass Cisco, character development for Caitlyn, an Iris with more agency (I like seeing her with a gun), more Gypsy, and most of all, better writing for Wally. Especially since he's Central City's new Flash. Before Season 3 this would have been my worst nightmare. Now I'm kind of excited.

Also, that was a send-up for Caitlyn to appear on Legends of Tomorrow if I ever saw one. ^_^ I really hope it's like Angel where troubled characters go to that show to find themselves.

Naw, he had Caitlin kill Black Flash. What happened was, they rigged the Speed Force gun to free Garriick and they ganged up on him. Savi tried to kill everyone before he was paradoxed, but barry basically hijacked his suit and destroyed it. Barry can't kill Savitar and before he's able to do it, Iris shoots him dead and he succumbs to the paradox.

So who was the villain we got a reference to by Savitar? That might be a hint for next season.

I heard the reason Barry was written out was because of him being a prominent character in the DC Extended Universe. If so, then fuck off with that shit.

I always thought that kinda thing was bull, but it's not the first time DC does it, IIRC.

I just gave my doubts on Barry's absence.

DC Flash dies in his movie, and Barry gets to come back.

I can not help but feel sad for Savitar.

He was a psychopath just like Zoom, but he was still Barry.

What if Barry stays in the speed force but an Barry from another earth becomes the new flash for earth one?

Ha. There is no way that Barry Allen is being written out of his own show. He'll be back next season. They might wait one or two episode...no, wait, the big cliffhanger of episode one is Barry coming back. ONLY IT'S NOT BARRY IS IT?

Holy crap, if they do The Return of Barry Allen, I would love it. Have Barry return at the end of episode one, everyone celebrates, they all get back to work together, yaaaay, but slowly it's revealed that there's something wrong with Barry and then it turns out that it's not Barry at all, but a younger Thawne who made himself look like Barry.

I did love the fact that Iris was the one who killed Savitar (where did she get the gun, though?) and Killer Frost decided not to turn back into Caitlin, but rather become someone different. Still, the ending was super cheesy with the Speed Force Mom beckoning Barry.

When Barry was talking about how his penance has come I seriously wanted Ghost Rider to just pop up out of the Speed Force and drag his ass in using the flaming chain. So I'm a little disappointed about that. This season has been pretty lackluster for me tbh. Out of all the CW shows Arrow has been the consistently good one, not drawing out plots for too long and having few throw-away episodes.

It's a tossup between Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. I would choose LOT because Captain Sara Lance is the pretty much the best character in the Arrowverse, but maybe that's just me. Yes, however, it's weird how great Arrow has been this season, considering just last year the show was the bane of everyone's existence. Arrow-Reddit even went as far as to advocate for the show's cancellation and replaced their Arrow headline with the Marvel's Daredevil picture instead. But hey, if Arrow (of all things) can turn around; I'm sure "The Flash" can too.

Actually, am I the only one that finds Arrow Seasons 3 and 4 waaaay more frustrating than this past season of Flash? Arrow Season 3 was confusing and annoying. Arrow Season 4 was kind of insulting. Flash Season 3 was just really, really...depressing.

Yeah, I also think that nothing compares to Arrow Season 3 and 4 in terms of bad quality. This season of Flash had it's problems but it was still somewhat enjoyable. As for the finale, well, I thought they might do something different for a change and redeem Savitar for real, but I guess he was just too far gone. I was surprised how quickly they disposed of Black Flash (though who knows if he is actually gone for good). And the ending, well, it's obvious it won't be permanent, but Barry has to pay a LITTLE price at least for his constant screw-ups.

They will inevitably bring Barry back. This is a network show, after all. But if they do, I hope it's only after a nice long more-than-half of the season, so we can get some nice development of Wally-as-Flash.

Granted, CW Barry kind of took a ton of the stuff that comics Wally's known for. But there's a lot of stuff I want to see. Neron. If they can ever get their act together about the Rogues, Wally interracting with all of Barry's old enemies, and/or a Rogue War like in the comics. Neron. The whole "Iron Heights may be run by a sociopathic metahuman" thing that the comics never actually did anything with. And did I mention Neron?

I at least want the next Arrow and Supergirl crossovers to have Wally as Flash, and see how everyone reacts to it.

Also, my current fun theory is that Caitlin goes wandering the world, meets up with a Brazilian metahuman with flame powers, and the two become the Arrowverse versions of Fire and Ice.

Honestly, this season wasn't that bad. It had it's problems, but I found it better than Season 2 and almost as good as Season 1.

Personally I'd put Season 1 ahead of 2 and 3. 2 and 3 I equate to one another in terms of quality.

I still like Season 2 better than this one, mostly because the show still felt like it was having more fun last season. Between Earth 2, Harry Wells, and the characters still being extremely charming; it still made for an overall very enjoyable season for me. Plus, Barry was still an extremely likable, heroic character.

This season wasn't the worst but it wasn't always fun to watch. Barry needs to go back to being a hero and Team Flash needs to be fun again. I hope this is the worst the show can get and next season brings back the awesome in October.

Season 2's midseason finale was a Christmas episode where the Flash fought the Weather Wizard and the Trickster and Captain Cold drank hot cocoa. Season 3's midseason finale was...Savitar showing up, beating on Barry, and then Wally stupidly grabs the Philosopher's Stone and cocoons himself.

I like Savitar better than Zoom, but Season 2 definitely was having a lot more fun than Season 3.
