I was about to tell Aldo he already knew the reason... but then I wondered why Nick is okay with a reboot and not the original cartoon... and then I figured that the reboot doesnt have an outed pedophile on the crew and was made out of decent people.

He still created the show, though.

Then again, Nick won't pay the Raymond Scott estate so they can have every episode of the show on streaming... maybe that's life for ya.

I didnt say otherwise, in fact if you are saying that you already know why his show isnt being acknowledged you shouldnt be surprised. And the old show was created by him but this new one isnt.

It is also said John K won't be given any royalties for the franchise anymore so he can't try to profit off the show's success anymore.

You know, I keep seeing Nicktoons Unite fan comics all over Twitter and I can’t help but want that to be revived in that AU Kingdom Hearts style.

Looks like we could finally get some Cartoon Network/Nickelodeon crossovers.

Still for this year gotta watch Arnold's Christmas, Rocko's Modern Christmas and the one for Wild Thornberrys (plus another Wild Thornberrys episode that's seasonal for the occasion too). We'll see about Doug's Christmas Story because that one's a rough one. While it's good, it's pretty dark and sad at times though.

I just realized. Nickelodeon was Zaslav BEFORE Zaslav, except they greelit cartoons, and even aired them BUT gave them shit timeslots and quickly killed them.

That practice began with The Angry Beavers and Cat Dog, which were both unambiguously successes.

[up]I think Angry Beavers at least got some life, After a certain point every new Nick cartoon had a lifespan of a few months.

[up][up]Angry Beavers and Cat Dog got to have 4 seasons, not exactly the same as what they do later on.

I think Invader Zim was the first show to have the short lived treatment and have the Nicktoons banishment thing.

The last few episodes of both shows weren't aired until years after they'd been canceled, in the mid-00s. They'd both had all their episodes shown in Canada by 2002.

For that matter, the third season of Oh Yeah! Cartoons counts as well. It was supposed to air in September 2000 (before the premiere of The Fairly Odd Parents) and didn't air until 2002.

As for Zim, the unaired episodes had been released on DVD before they ever appeared on TV, but I recall Nicktoons gave them good treatment and actually advertised the premieres.

[up]Even so, still better than what Nickelodeon does since the late 2000s where the mistreatment happens pretty early on in season 1 with shows rarely getting past 2 seasons. Cat Dog and Angry Beavers didn't start to get mistreated until their fourth and final season. If they were made now, I doubt those two would've even made it past season 2.

Not sure if I'd ever seen the Thanksgiving episode for Wild Thornberrys called A Family Tradition before this year or not. Probably gonna be added to the roster moving forward though.

Apparently the superbowl will also air on Nickelodeon as well as CBS. Variety says the Nick broadcast will have seperate ads to replace the more adult ones (beer and r-rated movies) on CBS.

I mean Drew Barrymore's hosting a thing involving Nick and the Super Bowl this year, so not surprising.

It's thanks to me that one of my nieces is big into Rugrats—though more so Bluey now (and that's understandable because it's actually really good). Hoping to get all my nieces into Rugrats some point soon.
